RAPID TRI is the new aero helmet from Catlike, it has been developed in collaboration with University of Granada researchers and professional cyclists. A comprehensive study with aerodynamics and ventilation was done and one of the conclusions of this study has been that in long distances, aerodynamic helmets without a tail work better due to the continuous movement of cyclists heads.
The ventilation is another aspect that has been considered on the development of the RAPID. In long distances, dehydration appears very fast, and as a consequence the cyclist performance reduces. This helmet has four wide air intakes, two on the front and two at the back, where the aerodynamics doesn’t impact as much, to channel the air, giving excellent ventilation for the rider.
The RAPID TRI also incorporates two layers between the visor and the helmet that creates two additional air intakes for ventilation around the ears, a point where a vast amount of sweating occurs, allowing a constant flow of air. For its great ventilation, the RAPID Tri is perfect for triathletes who want optimal ventilation whilst enhancing their aerodynamics.
