Product Description

CushCore is an engineered foam insert that mounts inside a mountain bike tyre. It divides the inner volume of the tyre in half, with air underneath the tread and the CushCore insert next to the rim.

The purpose of Cushcore is to improve the ride quality of your bike. It is not just for flat protection. CushCore absorbs shock, stops deflection off obstacles, reduces vibration, and stabilizes the tyre against roll and squirm. Think of it as suspension for your tyres designed to give you a faster, smoother ride.

CushCore is sold as a set because it is designed to be used as a set.

The set includes:

2 CushCore Inserts
2 CushCore Tubeless Air Valves
Rim Stickers
Installation Instructions

Compatibility
CushCore is compatible with your current tubeless tyres and rims
Fits tyre widths 2.1 - 2.6"
Fits rims with internal width 22 - 35mm
If your wheels are not tubeless ready, rim sealing tape will be required
We recommend the use of tubeless tyre sealant with CushCore
Installation with certain tyre & wheel combinations may require two people - one to work the tyre levers, and another to hold the tyre bead in the drop center of the rim. Wire bead downhill tyres are most likely to need extra help.

Weight
CushCore weighs about as much as a standard butyl inner tube
29" insert - 260 grams
27.5" insert - 250 grams

Durability
CushCore inserts are extremely durable. Our foam is engineered to withstand repeated pounding and flexing without degradation. It does not absorb liquid and is not affected by tyre sealant. Service life will depend on your riding frequency, terrain, etc.

Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

Wheels Guide

What are wheels?

Wheels are probably the second most important part of your bike, after the frame. A lot of the bike’s riding characteristics come from its wheels.

Who needs wheels?

A wheel upgrade can make a massive difference to your bike. Because of this, you might consider a new set of wheels, even if the old ones aren’t worn or damaged.

What are the choices?

Mountain bikers choose their wheels in 26in, 27.5in or 29in size, depending on what their frame is built for. Road bike wheels are 700c. Beyond this, there’s a dizzying array of rim material and depth, spoke type and hubs galore – enough to make your head spin faster than your wheels.

What should I buy with them?

A wheel upgrade always deserves a lovely new set of tyres. These too have a massive impact on how your bike rides.

Anything else?

There are several approaches to buying wheels – you can buy a full wheelset, for perfect pairing, or you can take a modular approach, picking hubs and rims before having a new set built to your specification.
