Sturdy and light

Lightweight alternative to Shimano UN55 (as others have mentioned) as well as Miche Primato BB. Silent, smooth, and sturdy, performs well without any noticeable wear so far. On any discounted price is good value for money. On RRP ok value for money, but definitely worth it for the weight weenies out there.

Good alternative for Shimano

Buying my third one. The first seemed to show some wear on the bearings before the bike was stolen. Second one seems fine but wrong length for new frame. This is much lighter than the Shimano UN55 (and more expensive), but haven't had a chance to test longevity. Seems good so far and the first one was subjected to some well-laden touring. Fits easily and smoothly into the frame, little rotational resistance, stays shiny!

Genetic karyotype bottom brackets

Light weight reliable and a reasonable price for a traditional cassette square taper bottom bracket. Recommended. Good for tourers and classic bikes as well as fixies. A greater range of axle lengths would be useful.
