Product Description

The Giant ATX 1 is the perfect entry into the world of MTB. The lightweight ALUXX alloy hardtail frame puts you in a fantastic riding position to take advantage of the handling. The 27.5” wheels roll quickly, while the MTB tyres give great bump absorption, helping the 100mm fork. Take to the forest paths or even city streets aboard the Giant ATX 1.

Climb steep city streets or explore forest trails. This versatile bike is at home in any environment.

Closely related to Giant XC and trail bikes, the ATX features the familiar flat-handlebar and 100mm suspension fork of a traditional XC mountain bike. A lightweight ALUXX aluminium frame, engineered with comfortable geometry for challenging terrain, adds to its rugged personality. The ATX also features size-specific wheel diameters—smaller size bikes use 26-inch wheels, while larger sizes use 27.5. This tailors the bike’s handling to every rider’s size and height. Powerful disc brake technology gives you confident handling no matter the weather or riding conditions. And integrated mounts let you easily add racks or fenders to suit your riding adventures.

greater than the sum of its parts

as an entry level mtb you can't expect too many bells and whistles for the price, and reading the component list it is evident.the suntour forks have lockout and a bit of preload adjustment to balance your weight but looking a little closer the do not use on any jumps or rough terrain sticker raises its ugly head..really hate it when part are included on low spec bikes just to make it look better than it is.to be fair they do do a decent job of ironing out the bumps and uneven surfaces so the ride is quite comfortable.the advertised comfort seat designed for wearing jeans etc is as uncomfortable as any saddle in this price point, its not bad per say just not the most comfortable thing to sit on for a few hours.the disc brakes work well after the initial bedding in and give confidence. The gears ,after having to get them set properly at a local shop as it was delivered with badly /none changing gears work nicely with a good range.the giant own brand tires are ok, not the grippiest in an of road situation but are quite speedy on hard surfaces.Of coarse the tires/wheels are not tubeless or tubeless ready but that is to be expected. The stem and bars are own brand and to me feel a little too low, but every one is different.Just a side note, i sized the bike using tredz own size calculator and is is quite close but the geometry of the bike has quite a long/low reach for me so a riser/stem change is on the cards. The frame is stunning..cant fault the build quality at the price. The colour is described as neon red but think matt Day-Glo orange and you'll have a closer idea.It may sound that i don't think much of the bike but for the money i don't think you could get a lot better. It looks stunning in the flesh,a real head turner with branded components and a lifetime frame guarantee.i have spent hours on gravel and footpaths as well as path and road and it hasn't skipped a beat yet..for the beginner mountain biker or leisure cyclist who don't want to go extreme it should serve you well.
