Stylish Hardware

A sleek (and light) addition to any single speed or fixed gear bike with a flip-flop rear hub. The Halo Fix-T is very well made, being both CNC machined and anodized. The alloy spacer supplied with it gives a precise fit with the cover threaded on to the freewheel side of the hub. If you are looking to torque it up properly, use a pin spanner sized for an angle grinder lock ring. 4mm diameter on the pins, 35mm c-to-c. Perfect!

Awesome bit of kit

Having flipped my hub to fixed a few months ago I finally got round to taking my rusted up freewheel off my singlespeed only to leave the thread exposed to all the grime my daily commute has to throw at it. So I checked at my LBS and they suggested this very neat piece of kit to help protect the bike a quick google search and Tredz came up with the goods its easy to fit and does the job perfectly. My only regret is that the red one was out of stock when I ordered...

Wheels Guide

What are wheels?

Wheels are probably the second most important part of your bike, after the frame. A lot of the bike’s riding characteristics come from its wheels.

Who needs wheels?

A wheel upgrade can make a massive difference to your bike. Because of this, you might consider a new set of wheels, even if the old ones aren’t worn or damaged.

What are the choices?

Mountain bikers choose their wheels in 26in, 27.5in or 29in size, depending on what their frame is built for. Road bike wheels are 700c. Beyond this, there’s a dizzying array of rim material and depth, spoke type and hubs galore – enough to make your head spin faster than your wheels.

What should I buy with them?

A wheel upgrade always deserves a lovely new set of tyres. These too have a massive impact on how your bike rides.

Anything else?

There are several approaches to buying wheels – you can buy a full wheelset, for perfect pairing, or you can take a modular approach, picking hubs and rims before having a new set built to your specification.
