This aluminium link housing is the ultimate combination of durability and attention grabbing looks. Designed to enhance your performance and appearance. So, why is it better than traditional housing? It’s compressionless, which means better braking performance with enhanced modulation. But its flexibility allows for tight bends without kinking. It’s also much lighter than traditional coiled steel housing while being more durable. What are cables?

Cables connect your brakes and gears to your handlebar controls. They consist of a wire inner cable surrounded by a metal outer.

Who needs cables?

If your brakes feel sticky or your gears aren’t shifting smoothly, it might be time for a cable upgrade. Also, if there’s any rust or damage showing to your cable outer, a cable change could save you from a dangerous failure.

What are the choices?

Let’s be very clear: brake cables and gear cables might look similar, but they are entirely different and aren’t interchangeable.

What should I buy with them?

To fit new cables you’ll need some good quality cable cutters. You’ll also need all the relevant ferrules and end caps, unless your new cables come in a set that includes them.

Anything else?

It’s important to cut your cables accurately. If you’re not confident doing it yourself, you can take advantage of Tredz’s in-store cable cutting service.
