    Amazing bike for the money.

Had some issues with delivery constantly changing and apparent damaged build but when it arrived I was suitably impressed. Was also a little disappointed to find pedals included which may sound odd but it states clearly pedals are not included so I ordered some ready-however I now have some great DMR pedals which are better than those included. Onto the bike. The "dork disc" was snapped on delivery, no problem, I took it off. Suspension was obviously not set up so released a bit of air in the rear shock dialled up the rebound and took it for a spin on a pump track. To have a bike of this quality for only £1400 is untrue. Someone somewhere in Marin must be going hungry, because I feel like I'm ripping them off! I have always been a fan of Giant bikes but this Marin beats anything I've ridden hands down. The slack geometry is bang on, not too slack to ruin uphill climbing though. The clutch derailleur is Deore so good quality, silent and smooth when changing. You get wide bars which are great for confidence. Weight wise its fine, compared to anything I've ever ridden anyway. The Marin componentry is excellent, not the usual cheap tat that gets thrown on budget bikes....but hey, this is not a budget bike...do not confuse this as something for a noob. It is a platform, something to build upon as your skill progresses. Any bad points? There is a creak which I have yet to identify, wish Tredz were closer as this would be for them to identify. Front fork is great, and perfectly suitable, but an extra 20mm would be awesome. I'm not keen on the grips but cheap upgrade so nothing to worry about. Was also disappointed to receive no Haribo in my order (ordered 2 bikes and my wife got hers first with plenty of gummy juiciness). But apart from those small things, this is a bike begging to be ridden. It is so much fun, without being fussy. It will grow with you, and can be ridden as a trail bike, downhill, or even enduro...just build it to your spec! Well done Marin!
