Product Description

Orange Seal “tubeless ready” valves feature a removable valve core and a tapered, trim-able base which makes setting up a tubeless tire easy on most rims. The uniquely designed base of each stem prevents the valve stem from pulling through the rim hole while giving a customisable approach to a large variety of rim designs.

Not great - would not buy again

The main problem with these is the fact that the base is wide and thin and the use of rubber washers cannot be relied on, I had to trim the sides with a scissors so it would not interfere with the tyre bead (used on 19mm internal rim) The instructions tell you to add the large included rubber washer between the base and the rim, this does not work very well as it does not conform to the rim shape well. The addition of a small rubber washer to the outside under the valve nut, the bottom of the valve nut is flat so when you tighten it down the washer just squashes out. One tyre I had up without issue but the other was a huge problem, nearly gave up and tried a different brand, but I had a left over Mavic valve nut with a grooved side to encapsulate the washer so it stopped the rubber washer squishing out the sides allowing me to tighten it more which stopped it leaking into the rim. I would not recommend these on anything below 22mm wide internal rims as the design does not work well for anything smaller, would try something else with a smaller rubber base.

Wheels Guide

What are wheels?

Wheels are probably the second most important part of your bike, after the frame. A lot of the bike’s riding characteristics come from its wheels.

Who needs wheels?

A wheel upgrade can make a massive difference to your bike. Because of this, you might consider a new set of wheels, even if the old ones aren’t worn or damaged.

What are the choices?

Mountain bikers choose their wheels in 26in, 27.5in or 29in size, depending on what their frame is built for. Road bike wheels are 700c. Beyond this, there’s a dizzying array of rim material and depth, spoke type and hubs galore – enough to make your head spin faster than your wheels.

What should I buy with them?

A wheel upgrade always deserves a lovely new set of tyres. These too have a massive impact on how your bike rides.

Anything else?

There are several approaches to buying wheels – you can buy a full wheelset, for perfect pairing, or you can take a modular approach, picking hubs and rims before having a new set built to your specification.
