Product Description

The Ortlieb Toptube Frame-Pack is the smart solution for all who want to use their frame’s main triangle for storage space without having to do without their water bottle. The solution also works for those who have full-suspension mountain bikes with limited triangle space. With its 4-liter payload, the Toptube Frame-Pack provides plenty of space for heavy equipment such as tent poles, tools and food supplies, while also helping to secure a low center for improved rising performance. And given that the bag and its zipper are waterproof, you can even cross rivers on your bikepacking tour without worrying about your stuff getting wet.

The Frame-Pack attaches easily to your top tube and seat tube with the help of sturdy and highly adhesive Velcro straps.

Ortlieb frame pack, it's a good buy
by Anonymous user on 23/08/2020

Several tours with this frame bag and now use it for short rides and trails if need storage rather than any backpack, seat pack etc. I'd recommend it. Only downside is I would prefer the zip higher on the side of bag to make access when full more practical. Seems totally waterproof, solid reliable zip, does not catch the legs and can still get water bottle in cage. Good additional storage that doesn't feel like it affects the bike or ride in any way.

Great frame bag
by Simon A on 18/07/2020

I much prefer this to a “cockpit bag” for carrying rain gear, a usb battery, tools, puncture kit and a few vital spares because it’s a bigger capacity and doesn’t swivel off the top bar like most Cockpit bags. Robust zip. My experience is ortlieb are about the only manufacturers whose bags are genuinely waterproof. Criticisms: 1. The velcro straps the bag hangs from are slightly too long and curl outwards and occasionally rub very slightly when you pedal. If they had extended the male velcro a bit further down this wouldn’t happen. A minor niggle only. 2. It would have been even better if it had a port for taking wires from a battery front at each end, though this would have compromised water proofing - for long rides you often want to be able to power a GPS or a camera externally - or is it just me? 3. Be nice if it had a carrying strap of some sort - if you lock the bike up, you don’t want to leave this on the bike. 4. It is expensive. Pros: But it’s still the best frame bag I have seen or used, and the nice thing is I can still use both water bottle cages. I keep it on my bike.

Bike Bags Guide

What are bike bags?

Bike bags are a simple way to carry any type of cargo, either on your back in the form of a rucksack or attached to your bike.

Who needs bike bags?

Bike bags are really versatile – use them to accompany rides of any distance, whether they are for work or play.  Plenty of pockets will help even the most disorganised of riders.

What are the choices?

The choice of bike bag is huge, from a a simple seatpack with a spare tube and repair kit, to a pair of panniers for an expedition. There are also rucksacks and hydration packs for your back, holdalls and handlebar bags available.

What should I buy with them?

You’ll need a fork-mounted rack for front panniers and a rear rack for rear panniers.

Anything else?

Always buy a bag slightly larger than the one you’ll think you need. It’s surprising how many things you might need to pack.
