Product Description

The award winning Crane is a lightweight helmet with a durable and dent resistant construction where POC has implemented a new kind of liner, combining two different densities. The stiffer outer part deals with higher energy impacts while the inside gives protection for lower energy impacts. Together the two densities work to give a progressive stop in case of an impact. Crane has a considerably thicker shell than a traditional in-mold helmet, further improving the durability. The unique size adjustment system makes it possible to customize the fit of the helmet to ensure it stays safe and comfortable in place.

  • Progressive core, dual density EPS liner

Poc crane helmet

Great helmet for the office price of £40, personally wouldn’t pay the original price of £100, but worth every penny of the offer price. What I like about it is that your head actually goes in the helmet and doesn’t just sit on top of your head like most others I have tried on.

Helmets Guide

How To Choose a Helmet?

All helmets we stock meet EU and international safety standards. High priced helmets are not necessarily stronger than an entry-level lid.

But, they will be more comfortable, lightweight and better vented. Premium lids come with more advanced features.

Measure your head size

Fit is essential for a comfortable ride. Wrap a tape measure around your head, just above your ears at the thickest part of your head.

Venting

Choose a helmet with plenty of vents to ensure you stay cool as you ride. Quality helmets use deep vents that connect to rear exhausts for maximum airflow.

Dial Fit Adjustment

Helmets with dial adjusters on the rear let you adjust the fit as you ride. The best dial adjusters are easy to use with one-hand so you can keep pedaling.

Visibility

If you plan on commuting or riding on-road then look for helmets with reflective elements, bright designs or even integrated LED’s to improve your safety.

Removable Visor

A small but useful feature is a removable visor. Great for mountain bikers, a visor can shield your eyes from glare, debris and rain.

What Type Of Helmet Do I Need?

Road Helmets

Road bike helmets are lightweight with plenty of venting to keep you cool. Premium road helmets will come with aero profiling to help you slip through the wind.

MTB Helmets

MTB helmets are more durable with a thicker shell and good ventilation. You’ll find extended protection around the sides and rear of your head for maximum protection. Most come with a removable visor to protect against glare and debris.

Full Face Helmets

Full Face helmets offer the ultimate protection for downhill mounting biking. You get full side and rear coverage as well as a chin guard to keep your lower face shielded.

Skate Helmets

Skate helmets come with minimal venting in favour of a hardshell design offering side and rear protection. Great for the skatepark or pump track.

Urban Helmets

Urban helmets blend a hybrid of features from road and MTB helmet with added visibility for on-road safety. They are ideal for commuters.

What is MIPS Technology?

MIPS is a new technology found on high-end bike helmets. It is a low friction layer inside the helmet that moves during rotational impacts. This movement reduces and slows energy being transferred to your head.

The idea behind MIPS is to reduce the risk of brain injury.

What is Crash Replacement?

Many manufacturers have a Crash Replacement policy. If your helmet has been involved with a crash, you can buy a replacement at a reduced price.

Often crash replacement is available if your helmet is up to 3 years old and you’re a UK resident.

Check with the manufacturer of your helmet to see if you’re eligible for a discount.
