Product Description

A floor pump is one of the best investments a rider can make to keep their bike ready for action. Experts agree that tyre pressure, more than any fancy frame material, the latest suspension, or high-tech wheels, affects the ride quality of any bike. In addition to ride quality, tyre pressure affects traction for cornering and stopping, rolling efficiency, power transfer, flat prevention, and overall safety.

A floor pump will make inflating your tyres easier, quickly, and more accurate when compared to other means such as a small hand pump, compressor, or other inflating devices. Choosing the right model depends on how often you plan to use the pump, what inflation pressures you bike's tyres require, the type of valve your tubes have and what features the pump has to make inflation easier and quicker.

  • Pedro's Domestique Floor Pump was designed with value in mind.
  • Despite being our lowest floor pump option, the Domestique includes features found on higher priced offerings.
  • These features include :
  • High quality steel and plastic construction for durability
  • A dual head design with thumb-lock lever for easily switching between presta/schrader tube valve types
  • An integrated pressure gauge
  • Comfortable ergonomic plastic composite handle
  • Heavy duty composite base for stability.
  • The Domestique is designed with a high air volume stroke to quickly inflate tyres up to 120PSI (8 Bar) maximum pressure.
  • Backed by a Pedro's two year warranty.

Bike Pumps Guide

What are bike pumps?

A bike pump is essential for keeping your tyres inflated, preventing pesky pinch punctures and providing more efficient riding. Tyres gradually deflate even if your bike stays inactive for a while, so it’s good practice to top them up as often as you can.

Who needs a bike pump?

Anyone with a bike. A mini pump or CO2 cannister can be vital in getting you home after a puncture, or to work on time if you’re commuting.

What are the choices?

Traditional pumps are easy to use and inexpensive to buy. A hand pump is operated with a pumping action and is available in standard or mini size. Both types can be fitted to eyelets in your bike frame or smaller pumps will fit in a saddle bag. Track or floor pumps are great for the garage – inflating high psi levels in just a couple of movements. CO2 cannister instantly release air into your tyres and are diminutive in size.

What should I buy with it?

If your pump isn’t compatible the valve on your tyre (Presta or Schrader) you may need to buy an adaptor. CO2 cartridges require a small adaptor for use.

Anything else?

A gauge is a good way of seeing how much air you’ve added, preventing the dreaded pop sound from an overambitious inflation. Also, NEVER take CO2 cartridges with you on an aeroplane!
