Product Description

In the genre where Ridgeback first made its name, 2017 Dual Track offers our most exciting range of mountain bikes yet.

  • The big news is the all new X3, a light off-road E-MTB powered by Shimano's STePS system.
  • A completely new design, the X3 is perfect for exploring forest tracks and canal toe paths.
  • Its economical battery life makes all day trips easy. Specified with Shimano gearing and hydraulic brakes, reliability and ease of use are at the top of the agenda.
  • Now specified with SR Suntour suspension forks and improved tyre clearance, these 29ers are an ideal entry level MTB or robust commuter.

A helping hand from the bottom up.

As someone who wanted to start cycling to work but was a. massively unfit, b. more than a little overweight and c. had the mother of all hills to contend with as part of her commute, I had heard good and bad things about the benefits of e-bikes. I chose this one specifically because it accommodated a 15in frame with 29 in wheels (which doesn't seem to exist in other ranges/models). Don't expect to zoom up the hills without putting in at least some of the work, but the effort is massively reduced. I was terrified that my 7 mile commute would be horrific but I arrive at work pleasantly out of puff and not feeling like I'm about to enter cardiac arrest. 7 miles whizz by and make the journey thoroughly enjoyable all the way. The build quality is sound and generally feels decent. The only thing I did do was change the saddle as a matter of priority but I would say to try that after a few rides as although it's narrow, the original seat is deceptively comfortable for the most part. Completely over the moon and would massively recommend this, especially to someone who is struggling a bit at the moment as it definitely takes away all the trepidation of harder targets if your general fitness is currently not up to scratch but you still want to get out there.
