Product Description

The carbon composite Stumpjumper FSR (650b) is a hard hitting trail bike, ready to take on anything. Perfect for bombing around trail centres. This Stumpy is at home on the most technically demanding trail centre trails.

New for 2016 is a geometry optimised for 650b wheelset with a slacker head angle, shorter chainstays and 150mm travel. The result is a balance between uphill efficiency and downhill stability, whilst staying light and nimble.

FACT carbon frame

At the heart of the FSR Comp frame is a FACT 9m front triangle with an M5 alloy rear. The FACT composite front is super stiff, light and strong. The mix of materials makes the Comp fast, nimble and comfortable where it needs to be. This is the same frame as the Expert Carbon model.

The 650b Stumpy comes with a 67 degree head angle, a bit slacker compared to the 2015 model. That means this bike is more stable at speed for when you’re really tearing down the trails. 420mm chainstays keep the back-end tucked in. The low bottom bracket height has been maintained to give you a lower centre of gravity - better handling through the corners.

SWAT

New for 2016 is an innovative storage solution called SWAT door. A space has been built into the downtube to store your trail essentials such as an inner tube, pump and CO2 cartridges. There is no rattling and the frame integrity hasn’t been compromised.

This means you don’t have to carry essentials in your backpack. Your center of gravity is lower and you’re more comfortable. The door combines with a bottle cage so on short hacks you won’t need to take a pack at all.

Internal cable routing protects your cables from damage and requires less maintenance over time. It also keeps the frame aesthetic and clean. A 12mm bolt through rear axle provides a stiffer rear end and a 15mm axle on the fork makes for precision steering control.

The IRcc 125mm (100mm size small) command dropper post can be adjusted on the fly. You can set the right saddle height for the section of trail that you’re riding.

Suspension

You get 150mm travel upfront from the RockShox Revelation RC3 fork This is matched to the rear FOX CTD Evolution shock. Both have easy to adjust rebound and compression damping,

FSR

The key talking point is the FSR suspension system. It is simply one of the most effective suspension systems you can find on an MTB. The fully active suspension works independently from pedalling and braking forces.

A 4 bar linkage with a second pivot close to the rear axle (on the chainstay) allows the back wheel to move in a linear path. There is no impact on chain tension and no pedal kickback or pedal induced bob. The result is a full-suss that can climb efficiently and descend in a controlled and stable way. Sealed cartridge bearings on all pivot points are smooth and easy to service.

RX trail tune on the rear sus means that every shock has the volume, compression and rebound range tuned for each Stumpy. You don’t get this from every manufacturer.

Shimano XT

You get a predominantly Shimano XT/SLX 2x10 drivetrain with some SRAM components. This is a performance set-up designed to give you the most out of your input. Shifting is crisp and smooth. The whole package is lightweight and ultra reliable.

Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes give you all the stopping power you’re going to need with excellent modulation. Roval 650b rims come with 29mm width for extra grip on those aggressive trail eating runs.

The Stumpjumper FSR Comp 650b is a powerful and fun long-travel trail bike. An MTB for those who enjoy the downhill sections and technical traverses but want to climb quickly and efficiently.
