Product Description

Relieve the pain of tubeless conversion with Airshot. Simply charge the Airshot bottle with a tack pump or even a hand pump and then use this to seat the tyre on the rim by delivering a large volume of air quickly.

9/10 MBR New Products Test (November 2015 issue)

Tubeless MTB tyres offer many benefits but seating tubeless tyres can be problematic. Airshot is the ideal solution. Simply charge Airshot with a track pump, connect the hose to the valve on your wheel then release the tap to seat your tyre. It's as simple as that.

The ability to charge it from a normal track pump means that you can use it to swap tyres at races, weekend adventures or even on mountain bike holidays.

Take the hassle out of fitting tubeless tyres with Airshot

Key Features:

    • Aluminium bottle can be charged up to 160psi

    • Presta valve for easy charging with a track or hand pump

    • Hose connects securely to Presta tubeless valves

    • Adaptor (included) allows you to remove the valve core for quicker inflation

Four trys to infate

Had this given as a birthday present and gave it a first try after puncturing and loosing some Slime sealant on my Shwalbe Pro One 25mm road tyre. I needed to add some sealant as I'd lost a lot when puncturing. It took four attempts to seat and seal the tyre The cylinder simply isn't big enough in my opinion, it's much more positive using co2 cylinders. disappointed really, I expected a more positive result. It may have been because there was already sealant in the tyre as I have had this problem before when using co2 cartridges but it is simply not an advantage over co2 so I don't recommend this product.

Delivers - without the core valve

Used track pumpt to reach 160psi - the last 20 PSI was a bit of a struggle to inflate tubeless 2.0 tyres (Specialized Storm Control. Could not get tyres to seat without removing the valve cores. Nb these were older tyres which were being re-inflated tubeless that I manged to inflate just using a track pump when they were new.

Airshot

My ‘2Bliss’ Specialized 38mm CX tyres wouldn’t entertain inflating with the track pump I’ve used with lots of tubeless MTB tyres. First shot, up they went with the Airshot charged up. I went with 110psi and no bother at all - it doesn’t take many strokes of a track pump to reach pressure either. Perfect.

Trail must have for tubeless riders

Ordered for in store collection, it arrived promptly. First impressions, very well made and looks great with the powder blue paint job. I bought the neoprene sock to protect the paintwork and it fits very neatly. Zip is a little weak, it split when I did it up, no problem to feed zipper back on though. Not yet used on the trail but I'm sure this will become part of my essential kit. Invented by a local too, what's not to love.

Average performance

I purchased this item after all the positive reviews. After two attempts it managed to inflate a tyre onto a stans rim. I expected a quick shot of air to come out but instead it is more of a large steady stream which eventually got the tyre up which then needed pumping up as well Overall I would say pretty average

It works!

With some trepidation, I decided to convert my cross country tourer to tubeless. Needn't have worried, fitted Joe's No Flats conversion kit, refitted tyre, connected, pumped and POP! Pour sealant in, fit valve, change connector and repeat; easy peasy, lemon squeezy! OK, it ain't cheap, but worth it if you don't have a compressor to hand! Don't bother trying to seat the tyre with a standard track pump, it won't work (yes of course I tried).

Helpful gadget

The air shot feels well made is easy to use and easily mounted 2 tubeless ready tyres which I could not mount with furious pumping on track pump alone. So performed as advertised. Would recommend this product

You only really find out what a company is like when there's an issue. Airshotwent out their way to send me the part I needed - great backup

It just Works!

Well if you've ever struggled to inflate tubeless tyres with a track pump? Then you'll understand why a product like this exists and for a good reason. It really is simple and makes the job easy. I might not use it much, but I won't sweat it if I have to do it again. Whilst I refrained from swapping tubeless tyres regularly before, this kit will mean I won't have to fret either. Overall I would recommend it.

Bike Pumps Guide

What are bike pumps?

A bike pump is essential for keeping your tyres inflated, preventing pesky pinch punctures and providing more efficient riding. Tyres gradually deflate even if your bike stays inactive for a while, so it’s good practice to top them up as often as you can.

Who needs a bike pump?

Anyone with a bike. A mini pump or CO2 cannister can be vital in getting you home after a puncture, or to work on time if you’re commuting.

What are the choices?

Traditional pumps are easy to use and inexpensive to buy. A hand pump is operated with a pumping action and is available in standard or mini size. Both types can be fitted to eyelets in your bike frame or smaller pumps will fit in a saddle bag. Track or floor pumps are great for the garage – inflating high psi levels in just a couple of movements. CO2 cannister instantly release air into your tyres and are diminutive in size.

What should I buy with it?

If your pump isn’t compatible the valve on your tyre (Presta or Schrader) you may need to buy an adaptor. CO2 cartridges require a small adaptor for use.

Anything else?

A gauge is a good way of seeing how much air you’ve added, preventing the dreaded pop sound from an overambitious inflation. Also, NEVER take CO2 cartridges with you on an aeroplane!
