Not fit for purpose
by David S on 07/11/2019

A total, utter waste of money. The plastic stalk snapped within 3 hours of fitting, so the mirrors is now in the bin! I didn't over-tighten it or drop the bike, I was simply putting it in the back of a car. Something that protrudes from any piece of equipment like this should be at least reasonably robust. (Not that I had much chance to use it, but I thought the lens was too small and badly shaped to easily see traffic behind me. It seemed to be shaped for style rather than purpose.)

whats the point of a mirror that shows nothing
by Saif K on 28/05/2017

first off, viewing angle is really small, just enough to barely see a coming car. you set it up to see back coming traffic which is hard then the mirror looses the settings because you went over a street bump. will stick to my broken cateye race mirror.

Steady safety
by Colin T on 10/11/2016

Fits easily in bar end (some bar tape might have to be removed). Provided the lock ring is tightened properly( don't be a gorilla or you'll break it), holds very steadily to give a good view. Try to resist the temptation to adjust whilst riding on busy public roads (death awaits!). Good value - especially if it saves your life.

Does the job
by Richard G on 26/06/2015

This is my first mirror, so I cannot give a comparative review. I found it easy to fit. The field of view is pretty good and it folds away when not in use.As per the title, does the job!

A vital item
by Mike P on 23/05/2015

This was the third bar-end mirror made by Blackburn purchased and fitted to the short Tioga bar ends on my Brompton. With age related arthritis in my neck I would feel extremely vulnerable without it. Fitting is easy; adjustment simple and the rear vision it provides first rate. On numerous visits to France in recent years, changing the mirror from the right hand side of the bars to the left takes no more than a minute. Being able to fold the mirror inwards protects it from damage both when the Brompton is folded for transit or being ridden in a restricted space. Distortion of image due to vibration has never been a problem and once tightened, alignment seldom requires attention. There are other mirrors, but this is one I rely on and would be lost without.

Bike Mirrors Guide

What are bike mirrors?

A bike mirror let you keep track on approaching traffic. It’s easily attached to your handlebars and can be removed when you don’t need it.

Who needs a bike mirror?

A bike mirror is great for commuting as it lets you see traffic at a glance. It’s also useful for any cycling on roads.

What are the choices?

Mirrors are available in a choice of sizes and styles. There are mirrors which attach to your bars, bar ends or helmet and a budget range to suit everyone.

What should I buy with it?

If you’re buying a mirror, a little cleaner to keep it sparkly won’t go amiss.

Anything else?

Only use your bike mirror to apply makeup or check for grey hairs when stationary, not on the move.
