Boardman ADV 8.9 - Nearly New - M 2023 - Gravel Bike
This ADV 8.9 - Nearly New - M bike is rated as an Excellent Grade which reflects that the bike is in very good condition and can be considered to have been 'pre-pedalled'. Having been lightly used, there are some signs of use on the bike. The only minor visible marks are on the down tube.
To ensure this bike meets our high standards for quality, it has undergone a thorough inspection by our professional mechanics. As with all our bikes, it comes with a 12-month Tredz warranty, plus any additional manufacturer warranty which may apply.
The ADV 8.9 might just be the best value for money bike we have ever made, given that it’s essentially 2 bikes for the price of 1. It’s equally at home exploring hidden bridleways and fire roads as it is clocking up miles on potholed commutes or long sportives.
A triple-butted 6061 aluminium frame with hidden welds, and a full carbon fork with tapered steerer, with thru-axles at both ends, make up the heart of the bike. Blending comfort and control without compromising efficiency or sacrificing precise handling – this is an ideal platform to build the perfect all-road bike around.
The ADV takes inspiration from the MTB world with its geometry – trail bikes have become more capable as top tubes have got longer and slacker, and this is passed onto the ADV. We’ve kept the top tubes long and slackened the head angle versus our road bikes, which gives a confidence-inspiring ride on loose surfaces, but without compromising body position for road riding. A slightly taller front end and a shortened stem keep the bars close to hand and sharpen up steering response.
Shimano’s 2x10 speed GRX adventure bike groupset has a wide range of gears with a 48-32 FSA chainset and 11-36 cassette, perfect for steep climbs. The GRX hydraulic brake levers are designed to offer better power braking from the tops and are fitted to a flared handlebar that is wider at the bottom than the top, giving great control when you’re descending on the drops. With 38mm Schwalbe G-One tubeless-ready tyres, there’s plenty of fast-rolling grip available too.
Completing the package are mounts for full-length mudguards and a pannier rack, adding the versatility for commuting, touring or winter road riding on top of the off-road smiles the ADV 8.9 delivers.
