The ADV 9.4 is built around Boardman’s award-winning C10 carbon frameset, designed to balance efficiency with the comfort needed for long days on mixed terrain. At just 990g, the frame is impressively light, but its strength comes from the way it handles rough ground. A contoured seat tube and bow-shaped seat stays help soak up vibrations, reducing the fatigue that comes from bridleways, gravel tracks and broken road surfaces. The geometry keeps you confident on loose corners thanks to a slack head angle and a low 73mm bottom bracket drop, while a short stem provides agility and quick steering when the terrain tightens up. With clearance for 42mm tyres and hidden mudguard mounts, the ADV 9.4 is a genuinely versatile gravel platform.

SRAM’s Rival XPLR eTap AXS drivetrain brings wireless 12-speed shifting to the ADV range. With a single 42-tooth chainring and a wide-range 10–44t cassette, you get simple, intuitive control and enough gearing for everything from steep gravel climbs to fast road descents. Shifts are crisp and consistent, delivered at the press of a paddle, and the lack of front derailleur keeps the cockpit clean and the ride fuss-free. Rival hydraulic disc brakes give controlled stopping power, offering plenty of bite on loose surfaces and confidence in wet UK weather.

Tyre choice is a key part of any gravel bike, and the ADV 9.4 runs Panaracer GravelKing SK 38mm tyres—chosen for their mix of fast-rolling efficiency and dependable off-road grip. Their closely packed central tread keeps speed up on hardpack and tarmac, while the more pronounced shoulder knobs offer bite on looser, muddier trails. The supple 120tpi casing adds comfort and control. The tyres are mounted on Boardman’s custom ADV wheels with 28 Sapim Race spokes and 20mm internal rims. Fully tubeless-ready and supplied taped with valves, the wheels only need sealant to unlock the benefits of lower pressures and better puncture resistance.

Comfort and control are supported by a Prologo Akero AGX saddle designed for rough-road riding, while the ADV bars feature a 6-degree flare for extra confidence and stability when descending in the drops or when fitting a bar bag for longer trips.
