The Boardman HYB 8.8 is built for riders who want speed and comfort without compromise. At its core is a triple-butted 6061 X7 aluminium frame with hidden welds for a clean finish and a stable geometry inspired by Boardman’s SLR road bikes. It delivers efficient power transfer while keeping handling calm and confidence-building on busy streets or rougher paths.
Paired with a full C7 carbon fork, the bike filters out road buzz and improves steering precision. The combination keeps weight impressively low at around 10.4kg, helping the HYB 8.8 feel lively on climbs and quick off the mark.
A Shimano Deore 1x10 drivetrain brings MTB-derived simplicity to hybrid riding. With no front derailleur to manage, shifting is intuitive and smooth, while the 11–46t cassette provides the range needed for steep hills and fast cruising. The 44t FSA Gossamer chainring keeps things efficient and predictable across varied terrain.
Braking performance comes from Shimano MT200 hydraulic discs, giving reliable stopping power whatever the weather. Schwalbe Citizen 35mm tyres further enhance confidence, offering fast rolling, grip on light gravel and dependable puncture resistance thanks to their Kevlar K-Guard layer.
Boardman’s one-piece HYB cockpit adds a sleek aesthetic while soft-touch adjustable grips allow riders to fine-tune hand position for improved comfort on longer rides. Practical touches include mounts for mudguards and racks, making the HYB 8.8 equally at home on weekday commutes and weekend explorations.
