The Boardman MHT 8.6 is designed as a versatile hardtail for riders looking to build confidence and progress on the trails. Its updated alloy frame uses a multi-alloy construction to balance strength and weight, while the longer reach and slacker head angle provide added stability when riding faster or tackling more technical sections.
Up front, the 120mm Suntour XCR32 fork helps absorb bumps and trail chatter, making rides more comfortable and controlled. The crown-mounted lockout lets you firm up the fork for climbs or smoother terrain, helping you pedal more efficiently when needed.
The Shimano CUES 1x10 drivetrain offers a wide gear range, with an 11-48T cassette that makes climbing easier while still providing enough speed for flatter sections. Designed with durability in mind, Shimano’s LINKGLIDE technology helps ensure smooth shifting and long-lasting performance.
Rolling on 29” wheels, the MHT 8.6 carries speed well and rolls confidently over obstacles. Maxxis Forekaster tyres are well suited to typical trail conditions, offering a balance of grip, rolling speed and braking control, especially in mixed or damp terrain.
Hydraulic disc brakes from Tektro provide reliable stopping power, giving you confidence on descents and in variable conditions. The frame also features internal cable routing for a clean look and is dropper post ready, allowing easy upgrades as your riding develops.
Overall, the MHT 8.6 is a solid all-rounder that’s well suited to trail centres, cross-country loops and riders looking to push their off-road riding further.
