The MTR 8.6 is built around a 6061 alloy frame shaped for stability on steeper, rougher trails while still keeping the bike efficient on climbs. A longer top tube, slacker head angle and steeper seat tube all work together to improve balance, traction and control, especially when riding more technical terrain.

Up front, the Suntour XCR34 Boost fork provides 130mm of supple, adjustable travel, giving you confidence when the trail gets rocky or rutted. At the back, the RockShox Deluxe Select shock smooths out impacts and maintains rear wheel grip, helping keep the bike composed whether you’re navigating roots or tackling fast descents.

The MicroSHIFT Advent 10-speed drivetrain brings simple, dependable shifting with a clutch rear derailleur to keep the chain under control. Paired with an 11-48T cassette and a 32T chainring, the gearing covers everything from steep climbs to steady fire road cruising.

Tektro HD-280 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors deliver consistent stopping power, helping you stay in control on wet or loose surfaces. Rolling on 29" wheels, the bike uses a Maxxis Rekon front and Maxxis Forekaster rear tyre—both 2.4" wide—to balance grip, rolling speed and predictable handling across mixed conditions. The rims are tubeless compatible too, giving you an easy upgrade path for extra comfort and puncture protection.

A wide Boardman alloy handlebar paired with a short 45mm stem gives precise, confidence-inspiring steering, while the bike’s dropper-post routing makes it simple to add even more control for steep descents.
