The MTX 8.8 Womens is designed for riders who want one bike to handle a bit of everything—rough back roads, towpaths, light woodland trails and everyday urban miles. The lightweight 7005 alloy frame uses smooth welds for a clean finish and delivers a responsive, stable feel, with geometry shaped around a comfortable, confidence-boosting riding position. Sizing, cockpit dimensions and the saddle are all selected specifically for women to support long-ride comfort and a natural fit.
At the front, the Suntour NCX air-sprung fork provides 63mm of controlled travel to absorb bumps and uneven surfaces. With adjustable air pressure and a lockout feature, it can be tuned for comfort on rougher routes or firmed up for smooth tarmac to keep pedalling efficient.
Shimano’s Deore 2x10 drivetrain offers a broad range of gears suited to mixed-terrain riding. The 48/32 chainset paired with an 11–36 cassette helps keep climbs manageable while giving you enough top-end speed for steady cruising. The clutch rear derailleur keeps the chain secure on rougher ground, and the shifting is smooth and predictable under load.
Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes provide dependable stopping power in all weather. The brakes are easy to modulate, helping maintain control on loose surfaces or damp paths. Schwalbe Tyrago 37mm tyres add grip and comfort, with KevlarGuard protection helping reduce punctures when riding across varied terrain.
The bike rolls on durable Boardman alloy 700c wheels with quick-release Formula hubs. A comfortable Velo women-specific saddle, ergonomic riser bar, and a stable cockpit shape support long fitness rides and relaxed daily cycling. Boardman MTX 8.8 Womens 2026 - Hybrid Sports Bike
Extremely impressed with this bike. I acquired it through the cycle to work scheme. The performance is top notch in my opinion, great gear range, with quality components. The bike is 12 kg same as my Brompton which makes it so easy for me to lift up the stairs. I absolutely would recommend to others. I have one gripe and that is I think the bike is slightly too big for me however I have no problem riding it. I’ve sort of mastered how I do this I purchased the Small version wished I’d got an XS but not sure if they do that size in this bike. Any way I digress, Excellent bike with a fantastic price tag , very highly recommended
