Product Description

The Bobbin Luna is a women’s specific bike that can go the distance thanks to a comfortable Cro-Mo frame with durable, smooth rolling 700c wheels. You can buy the Bobbin Luna through a Cycle to Work Scheme - it makes a great commuter bike.

Frame & Fork

At the heart of the Bobbin Luna womens specific bike is a high quality Cro-Mo (chromoly) and hi-tensile steel frame. This offers durable strength and comfortable vibration dampening for longer rides in the saddle.

Up-front is a rigid hi-ten steel fork that helps to absorb vibrations travelling up through the fork and into your hands - preventing numbness and pressure points. The low slung top-tube also makes for easier mounting and provides a more confident position on the frame.

Geometry puts you into a more efficient riding position that is less straight backed so you can nip through the morning traffic.

Components

A Shimano Claris rear mech and 16 speed gearing give you everything you need for range or riding styles. Tektro alloy side-pull brake brakes confidently slow you down and 700c rims keep you rolling smoothly on the roads.

Touring Bikes Guide

What is a touring bike?

Touring bikes are cycling’s beasts of burden. These strong, sedate bikes are built to carry great loads over enormous distances.

Who needs a touring bike?

Touring bikes are built for intrepid travellers who want to spend weeks or even months in the saddle. However, they’re so stable and comfortable that they’re also popular as commuter bikes and for long leisure rides.

What are the choices?

Touring bikes are generally heavier than road bikes as they’re set up with plenty of extra equipment like racks and are stable and comfortable. Audax bikes are similar, but are for lightweight touring, so they’re lighter and faster. Steel is the traditional frame choice for tourers due to its comfortable properties, but there are plenty of aluminium tourers around now.

What should I buy with it?

Many tourers come ready set up with racks and mudguards, but if not you’ll need to get these for your cycling adventure. Also don’t forget panniers, rack packs and handlebar bags.

Anything else?

Tourers are really built to last and are a seriously good investment for a bike that’ll last many years. Although they are often steeped in tradition, you can now find tourers with really useful modern kit, like disc brakes.

See our Touring bike guide for more.
