It’s pricey but don’t let that dissuade you. Having had a number of budget friendly options, I didn’t know there could be much of a difference between an entry level bike and a more premium one. This little bike rides very smoothly, the gear changes are snappy and no rattles or groans as I commute. The bike is so smooth, that I am actually quicker on this 2 speed manual bike than I was on a single speed electric bike. I was a little concerned about only having 2 gears, as I do have a couple of hills on my commute. But the Brompton gearing is such that you can get up get hills with ease and then find a decent pace on the flats. I average about 12.5 mph which I don’t think is too bad for this little bike. Once the riding is done, the bike can be folded away and sits happily in an IKEA kallax unit, so actually makes and interesting conversation piece in the flat. It also fits into my locker at work, which is an added bonus. I’m also man enough to admit that after a particularly dirty ride, I folded it up, sat it in the bath tub and rinsed it off with the shower head - keeping the bike, and my flat clean! Parts seem plentiful and after sale support from Brompton seems excellent, so I can keep this thing running for years to come. This is not something that could have been said from some of the budget options I have had. Really happy with my little Brommie and the service from Tredz. The bike arrived quickly and is pretty much fully assembled other than the seat, which is attached with one bolt. The one thing I will warn any prospective owners about is to pay attention to the position of the pedals when folding. It’s quite easy to accidentally jam a pedal against the rear triangle or front wheel if they are in the wrong position. Touch up paint is available online though. Ask me how I know.
