Cycle to Work

Product Description

The Brompton Electric C-Line Explore is the apex of folding bicycles (e-bikes). It is geared for all riders and is designed for comfort, with an intelligent pedal assist. Whether it's assisting you in soaring up steep hills or easing those longer commutes to and from work - reaching speeds of up to 15.5 Mph.

Brompton Electric folds into a compact package that can be safely stored inside your home or workplace. A smart electric-powered folding bike that you can transport anywhere, at any time. The Brompton Electric is an e-bike that can accompany you wherever, from public transportation to the back of a car. Accepted on trains, trams, and metros, a foldable e-bike is a convenient way to travel especially for commuting.

The 2.9kg lithium ion battery detaches from the lightweight electric bike (13.7kg) with a single click, making it easy to transport, even up stairs. Designed in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering, this folding pedal assist bike with an electric motor satisfies the unique needs of a Brompton. Smart sensor technology enables several support modes, allowing the bike to know when to aid you. Ride over steep hills, into the wind, and fly between meetings, always arriving fresh. Its riding position and agility are superior to that of conventional bicycles. Smaller wheels offer faster acceleration out of red lights and more mobility across crowded roads.

Due to supply issues, some specifications may alter from the listed items.

Brompton Bike Guide

Brompton Guide

Bromptons are the iconic folding bike. The basic design is the same on all bikes but there are many different options to choose from within the Brompton folding bike range. Unlike most other bikes sizing is based on seatpost and handlebar type rather than frame size. This guide will help you to choose the right Brompton bike for you.

New names.
Same great bikes.

Brompton folding bikes have been renamed to make choosing the right one a little easier. Each bike is listed with a name that shows its line, model and specification option.

For example:
Brompton C Line Explore with Rack High Handlebar, previously known as the H6R:
C Line - steel frame, mudguards, and folding pedals.
Explore model - 6-speed gearing and pump.
Options - high handlebar, and luggage rack.

See below for more information on the Bromton lines, models and options.

Brompton Electric

The Brompton Electric is the ultimate electric folding e bike. Smart, fast, and reliable way to get around and explore your city. Designed for comfortable riding and featuring an intelligent pedal assist that gives you that extra push when you need it, it is for all cyclists, whether it's helping you fly up hills or easing those longer journeys to and from work.

Accessories and components

Bromptons have a variety of ingenious luggage carrying solutions. As well as a rear luggage rack, the optional front carrier block allows you to carry up to 10Kg of luggage. This mounts onto the headtube rather than the handle bar so the added weight doesn’t affect the stability and handling of the bike. Brompton luggage is practical, stylish and made to last.

Brompton have a variety of luggage options. Either mounted to the headtube or to a rear luggage rack.

Other Brompton Accessories

As well as luggage, Brompton have a range of accessories designed specifically for their folding bikes. These include Cateye light sets with Brompton specific mounts, luggage mounting blocks, racks, mudguards, saddles and seatposts as well as spare parts.

Note: Bromptons from 2021 and earlier have a different naming convention. If you are looking at a 2021 Brompton bike, or if you would like to compare new models with older ones then read on.

2021 and Earlier Model Names

The basic characteristics of each Brompton bike from 2021 or earlier is summed up in the three characters of the model name. The first letter tells you which handlebar is fitted. Next is a number which tells you how many gears the bike has. The third letter tells you if the bike has mudguards and a rack. If there is an X as a fourth character, then the bike is a Superlight model with titanium parts.

e.g. the Brompton M3L has an M Type riser handlebar, three speed drivetrain and is fitted with mudguards
