Product Description

In 2007 the revolutionary Ultra Torque bottom bracket technology was introduced. Now in 2011 the mid-range groups are even more affordable - still with the same high level performance features.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Power Torque System. The new single-piece axle is firmly fixed to the right pedal crank. The coupling between central pin and crank is perfect. This technical development makes it possible to eliminate any potential play.
To make the bottom bracket more efficient an elaborate sequence of thicknesses iks introduced. The axle is incredibly light while still offering an absolute response in terms of rigidity. Thanks to the studies conducted by the Campy Tech Lab engineers, material was removed in the zones that could be lightened but at the same time the points of maximum stress were strengthened. Only in this way was it possible to achieve such a high technical value.
A careful working out of the dimensions made it possible to maintain the lateral measurements already defined with the "elder brother" Ultra Torque, thus guaranteeing the maximum freedom of movement and reducing the possibility of contact with shoes. The design ensures simple installation and service. There are four simple steps for fitting the crankset quickly and without error. The right-hand bearing is already locked in place; the other is pre-inserted in the left-hand cup. No special tool is required - the new crankset is ready to propel you over endless miles.
That's right, because another one of the objectives of the Power Torque System project was prolonged operating resistance. The tests conducted by the Campy Tech Lab were very exacting in this regard. Now it's your turn.

Bottom Brackets Guide

What is a bottom bracket?

A bottom bracket is the bearings that the crank axle passes through, keeping the cranks turning smoothly.

Who needs a bottom bracket?

Every bike has a bottom bracket, so if your bike is creaking or feels stiff or notchy as you turn the pedals, your bottom bracket might be worn out and need replacing.

What are the choices?

It’s not so much a choice as a matter of compatibility. You need to establish whether your bottom bracket is press-fit or threaded and what size. Then you need to make sure it is compatible with your crankset. If it’s worn out, replacing like for like is often the easiest thing to do.

What should I buy with it?

You need some specialist tools both to fit and remove bottom brackets and to remove the cranks to get at it.

Anything else?

If you’re fitting a bottom bracket into a brand new frame, your frame will need some preparation first. Bottom bracket shell facing tools can be very costly, so you might need to bring it into a bike workshop to get this done.
