The Cube Aim SLT builds on a straightforward hardtail platform with components that give riders more control and versatility as they venture further off-road. Its 100mm air suspension fork, wide-range Shimano 1x12 drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes make it well suited to recreational mountain biking, local trails and mixed-surface rides.
Cube's Aluminium Lite frame uses Advanced Mechanical Forming and double-butted tubing, reducing unnecessary material while maintaining strength where it's needed. A tapered head tube provides a solid interface for the fork, while internal cable routing keeps the frame looking clean and protects the cables from dirt and debris.
The frame also includes Cube's SIC mounting points and a flat-mount kickstand interface. These allow practical accessories to be added if the bike also needs to handle commuting or everyday transport alongside weekend trail rides.
Up front, the SR Suntour XCM Disc Air fork provides 100mm of suspension travel. Unlike a basic coil fork, its air spring can be adjusted to better suit rider weight, helping riders achieve a more appropriate suspension setup. This makes it easier to balance support, comfort and control over rougher surfaces.
A remote lockout allows the fork to be firmed up from the handlebar without reaching down to the fork itself. It's useful on smoother roads and tracks where suspension movement isn't needed, before quickly opening the fork again when the surface becomes rougher.
The drivetrain mixes Shimano XT and Deore components to create a wide-range 1x12 setup. An XT RD-M8200-SGS Shadow Plus rear derailleur is paired with a Deore SL-M6200-R Rapidfire Plus shifter and Deore CS-M6100 10-51T cassette.
A single 32T ACID MTB Pro chainring keeps gear selection straightforward, with no front derailleur to manage. The 10-51T cassette provides a broad range of ratios, including easier gearing for steeper climbs while retaining useful higher gears for faster sections.
Shimano BR-MT200/UR300 hydraulic disc brakes use 160mm rotors front and rear. Hydraulic operation provides consistent lever feel and controlled braking in wet or dry conditions, helping riders manage their speed as surfaces and gradients change.
The Aim SLT uses tubeless-ready ACID EX25 rims. The front wheel features an ACID hub engineered by Newmen with a 15mm Boost axle, while the rear uses a Shimano FH-QC500-MS hub. The supplied specification does not state the exact wheel diameter for each frame size, so I've kept this as Cube's Size Split setup rather than assigning unsupported sizes.
Schwalbe provides different 2.25in tyres for the front and rear. A Racing Ray with Addix Performance compound is fitted up front, while a Racing Ralph is used at the rear. This pairing is designed to balance front-end grip and steering control with efficient rolling at the back.
Both tyres use folding Kevlar beads, while the rims are tubeless ready. The supplied specification doesn't state that the tyres themselves are tubeless ready, so a compatible tyre may be required if the wheels are converted to tubeless.
A 680mm Cube Rise Trail Bar and Performance Stem SLX form the cockpit, with an ACID Venec Lite saddle and Cube Performance seatpost completing the main contact points. Cube PP MTB pedals are also included.
At a stated 15.0kg, the Cube Aim SLT combines an adjustable air fork, 1x12 gearing and trail-focused Schwalbe tyres in an accessible hardtail package. It's a useful option for riders looking to move beyond basic recreational riding without stepping into a more specialised mountain bike.
