The Aim SLX builds on Cube's accessible hardtail platform with a Shimano 12-speed drivetrain and a lockout-equipped suspension fork. It's designed for recreational mountain biking and exploring off-road, while retaining the versatility needed for easier paths, tracks and everyday rides.
Cube's Aluminium Lite frame uses Advanced Mechanical Forming (AMF) and double-butted tubing. This allows tube shapes and wall thicknesses to be tailored to their job, helping balance strength and weight across the frame.
Internal Cable Routing keeps the cables protected and contributes to a clean appearance. A tapered head tube provides compatibility with modern fork designs, while Cube's SIC and flat-mount kickstand mounting points make it easier to adapt the bike for more practical everyday use.
The SR Suntour XCT 30 ATB Disc fork provides 100mm of suspension travel to take some of the sting out of roots, stones and uneven surfaces. A handlebar-operated remote lockout lets you firm up the fork without reaching down, useful when riding smoother roads or tracks where suspension movement isn't needed.
Shimano components provide a wide-ranging 1x12-speed drivetrain. An XT RD-M8200-SGS Shadow Plus rear derailleur is paired with a Deore Rapidfire Plus shifter and 10-51t Deore cassette. The single 32t chainring keeps shifting straightforward, while the broad cassette range provides easier gears for steeper off-road climbs.
The Shadow Plus derailleur is designed to better control chain movement over rough terrain, helping reduce chain slap and providing more consistent chain retention when the trail gets uneven.
Shimano MT200/UR300 hydraulic disc brakes use 160mm rotors front and rear. They provide predictable braking with relatively light lever effort and consistent performance in changing conditions, whether you're riding dusty summer trails or wetter winter tracks.
ACID EX25 rims are tubeless ready, giving you the option of switching to a compatible tubeless setup in the future. The bike is fitted with 2.25in Impac Smartpac tyres, combining useful off-road tread and volume for grip and cushioning across trails and mixed surfaces.
Cube's Size Split approach matches wheel size to frame size, helping maintain appropriate proportions and handling across the size range rather than using one wheel diameter for every rider.
Practical touches include Cube PP MTB pedals fitted as standard, so the bike is ready to ride without immediately needing a separate pair. The frame's accessory mounting points also make it easier to adapt the Aim SLX if you want to use it for everyday riding as well as weekend trails.
At a stated 15.4kg, the Aim SLX is focused on dependable components and versatility rather than outright low weight. The combination of 12-speed Shimano gearing, hydraulic brakes and remote-lockout suspension makes it a useful choice for riders progressing with their off-road riding or simply looking for a hardtail that can handle a mix of trails and everyday miles.
