The Cube Kathmandu Hybrid SLX 800 is built to deliver reliable performance and comfort across a wide range of riding, from daily commuting to longer touring routes. Its Aluminium Superlite frame uses Efficient Comfort Geometry to create a stable, upright riding position that helps reduce fatigue on longer journeys, while still offering confident handling.
At the core of the bike is Bosch’s Performance Line CX motor, delivering up to 120Nm of torque for strong, controlled assistance on climbs and into headwinds. The 800Wh PowerTube battery provides the capacity for extended rides, making it well suited to longer distances or multi-day trips.
Comfort is a clear focus, with a Fox 34 Float AWL suspension fork offering 100mm of travel to smooth out rough roads and light trails. A suspension seatpost and adjustable stem further refine the ride, allowing you to tailor your position for all-day comfort.
The Shimano XT Di2 1x12 drivetrain delivers precise, electronic shifting with a wide gear range, making it easy to maintain an efficient cadence across varied terrain. Shimano XT four-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide consistent stopping power and control, particularly when carrying luggage or riding in wet conditions.
Newmen Performance 30 wheels paired with Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency tyres offer a good balance of durability, grip and rolling efficiency, helping the bike feel composed across different surfaces.
Practical features are built in throughout, including Cube’s Integrated Carrier 3.0 for carrying luggage, along with mudguards, lights and a kickstand for everyday usability. Altogether, the Kathmandu Hybrid SLX 800 is a well-equipped e-bike designed to handle commuting, touring and everything in between with ease.
Bosch Performance Update 2.0
Bosch have dropped a fresh update for the Performance Line CX and CX-R motors, and it’s a big one for riders who want more punch on the trails. The update is available for the latest generation motors with the codes BDU384Y and BDU386Y, and it can be installed straight from the Bosch eBike Flow app. Nice and easy.
Once you’ve downloaded Performance Update 2.0, you can crank the motor up to a huge 120 Nm of torque, with up to 600% support and 750 watts of peak power. Bosch have also tweaked things so the motor can hold that power for longer when the riding conditions allow.
The 600% support figure only kicks in between 0 and 15 km/h, so it’s all about helping you power up steep climbs and tricky sections. The maximum assisted speed stays the same at 25 km/h.
As with previous Bosch updates, you can still customise the motor settings in the app to suit your riding style. Whether you want maximum power for steep tech climbs or a more natural feel on longer rides, you can dial it in how you like it.
Performance Update 2.0 is available for all CX Gen 5 and CX-R Gen 5 motors. It also brings Extended Boost (Bosch Overrun) and support for the new drivetrain tensioner system, which helps reduce lag when you get back on the pedals. Bosch are also adding more features and connectivity options, including Garmin integration and new power supply options.
One thing worth keeping in mind — more power means more stress on drivetrain components, so increased wear is expected over time. If you’re unsure about compatibility, servicing or upgrading components, get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help.
