When even the strongest bike lock isn't enough Datatag UV Stealth system for cycles offers a multi-layered approach to identification, that makes life difficult for even professional thieves!

Simple to fit and both include visible and hidden identifiers including the latest state-of-the-art stealth UV etching that won't visibly mark your bike and gives your bike a unique finger print. Bike theft is well known to be a problem and many owners think that just by registering them on a database, theft will miraculously stop, but the truth is that registration without the right identification system just doesn't work.

The Datatag systems offers premium identifiers combined with probably the most comprehensive database of its kind on the market today. Equally important, Datatag works with the Police to back up the product and gives free scanning equipment and database access on a 24/7 basis as well as technical training. Owners of Datatagged cycles also benefit from reduced premiums from the major insurers.

The Datatag UV Stealth Cycle System is ideal for all cycle frames and is a Police Preferred Crime Prevention Product.

The system includes the following state-of-the-art technology:

Stealth UV Etching

The system contains 4 UV Stealth Etches to permanently mark your frame, forks and wheels.

The unique, almost invisible UV etching system, form a major part of the risk deterrent and subsequent identification. These stealth UV etches won't visibly mark your cycle paintwork!

Peace of Mind

Have used Datatag products for years and whilst the change from fitting a transponder to frame etching had me a little worrried.....with the previous system I had the comfort of knowing any stolen bike could be located. Anyway its cheap insurance that is easy to apply and gives you a certain amount of peace of mind.

Datatag and insurance

This product secured me a discount with Velosure insurance - it is easy to fit and hopefully will do the job - as yet untested - of returning my bike to me if it is stolen. Having had a bike stolen in the past I feel it is value for money (potentially!)

Datatag peace of mind

I've used similar Datatag products on motorcycles and know they work. This was easy to install and should the worst happen, can help identify your bike if its found

Bike Locks Guide

What is a bike lock?

A bike lock is a security device for your bike which will deter thieves and keep your bike in your possession and not theirs. Bike locks are vital not just on the move but also at home to give you peace of mind.

Who needs a bike lock?

If you ever leave your bike unattended while you’re on a ride, a lock can mean that your bike is still there when you return from that quick shop stop or comfort break. If you have insured your bike, there are often requirements on the type of lock you’ll need in order to make a claim, so it’s worth checking this information.

What are the choices?

There are all kinds of locks to choose from. Sturdy D-locks  and chunky chain locks may be heavy but they are harder to cut through. Lighter weight cable locks are great for securing components with quick release skewers. Ground anchors are concreted or bolted into the ground making them an ideal home-based security measure.

What should I buy with it?

Bike security markings are a great idea, as they could help to identify it if it unfortunately gets stolen. Lock spares are available so you can replace anything from a shackle to a bracket.

Anything else?

We recommend you spent at least 10% of the value of your bike on a lock - with bike crime always on the rise, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
