The Ghost E-ASX Universal High blends the capability of a long-travel e-MTB with the practical equipment needed for everyday riding and longer tours. Its full-suspension aluminium frame, Bosch drive system and large-capacity battery make it suitable for everything from rough woodland trails to commuting and weekend adventures.
The aluminium frame uses modern trail geometry, with a 65-degree head angle and 77-degree seat angle helping balance descending stability with an efficient climbing position. The mixed-wheel setup combines a 29-inch front wheel with a 27.5-inch rear wheel, helping the bike roll confidently over rough ground while remaining manoeuvrable through tighter sections.
Up front, the RockShox Psylo Silver RC fork provides 160mm of travel with a Solo Air spring, allowing suspension pressure to be adjusted to suit rider weight and preference. At the rear, a RockShox Deluxe Select R DebonAir+ shock delivers 150mm of travel, helping maintain comfort and traction over roots, rocks, kerbs and rough surfaces.
Power comes from Bosch's Performance Line CX mid-drive motor. The model specification is listed with up to 85Nm of torque, providing responsive assistance for steep climbs, longer routes and everyday journeys while retaining Bosch's natural-feeling support.
A Bosch PowerTube 800Wh battery gives the E-ASX plenty of capacity for longer rides and higher-assistance use. It's neatly integrated into the frame, keeping the weight central while maintaining a clean appearance. The Bosch Kiox 300 display presents key ride and system information, while the LED Remote provides easy access to assistance settings from the handlebar.
SRAM Eagle 70 T-Type provides a durable 1x12-speed drivetrain designed to cope with demanding off-road riding and the increased loads associated with e-MTB use. The direct-mount T-Type rear derailleur helps provide consistent shifting, while the wide-range cassette gives useful gearing for steep climbs and faster sections.
Tektro HD-M535 hydraulic disc brakes use four-piston callipers and large 203mm rotors front and rear. This provides plenty of braking power and modulation for managing speed on longer descents or when riding a loaded bike in changing conditions.
WTB ST i30 TCS 2.0 rims provide a 30mm internal width that suits the high-volume Continental Xynotal Trail Endurance tyres. Their aggressive trail tread provides dependable grip on loose and technical surfaces, while the mixed-wheel configuration helps balance stability and agility.
A Limotec Alpha 1 dropper post offers up to 200mm of travel, letting you quickly lower the saddle for steep descents and technical sections. This gives you more room to move around the bike and helps improve confidence when the terrain becomes more demanding.
The Universal High also adds useful everyday equipment, including lights, mudguards and a luggage rack. These features make the bike easier to use for commuting, shopping and longer touring rides without taking away from its off-road capability. Ghost positions the E-ASX Universal as a crossover-style bike intended to handle both urban riding and rougher trails.
With its long-travel suspension, Bosch Performance Line CX drive system, 800Wh battery and practical equipment, the Ghost E-ASX Universal High is a versatile option for riders who want one e-bike for technical trails, longer tours and everyday transport.

* Mountain bikes are sized differently to road bikes. Typically, they are sized in inches as the first MTBs were produced in the USA. European brands like Lapierre and Haibike like to use centimeters for all their bikes. The measurements of their mountain bikes doesn’t match their road bikes but is like a simple conversion from the inches measurement. This is why we have included cm measurements in brackets for the e mountain bike column.
