The Ghost Kato FS is a straightforward full-suspension mountain bike designed for riders taking their first steps into trail riding. Its aluminium frame and 130mm of front and rear suspension provide added comfort and control over rougher terrain without pushing the bike towards more specialist enduro riding.

Up front, the SR Suntour XCR34 Boost Air fork provides 130mm of travel. The air spring can be adjusted to suit rider weight and preference, while the 34mm chassis and Boost axle provide a solid front end for tackling rougher woodland trails, roots and more technical sections.

The SR Suntour Raidon R rear shock works with 130mm of rear suspension travel to help the rear wheel track uneven ground. Full suspension helps maintain traction and takes the edge off repeated impacts, providing greater comfort and control as trails become rougher.

Shimano CUES provides a simple 1x10-speed drivetrain, removing the need for a front derailleur while still giving you a useful spread of gears for climbing and descending. The RD-U6000 Shadow+ rear derailleur helps control chain movement over rough terrain, while the Rapidfire+ shifter provides familiar trigger shifting.

The drivetrain also uses Shimano LINKGLIDE components, including the CS-LG300-10 cassette and CN-LG500 chain. LINKGLIDE is designed with durability and smooth shifting in mind, making it well suited to regular trail riding.

Tektro HD-M535 hydraulic disc brakes use four-piston callipers with 180mm rotors front and rear. The four-piston design provides plenty of controlled braking power for trail riding, helping you manage speed confidently on steeper and more technical sections.

Wide XLC Summit tyres add useful cushioning and grip over loose and uneven surfaces. They're fitted to XLC WR-M19 disc rims, giving the Kato FS a trail-focused wheel and tyre setup suitable for woodland trails and general off-road riding.

An XLC dropper post provides 125mm of travel, allowing you to lower the saddle from the handlebar before descending. Getting the saddle out of the way gives you more room to move around the bike, which can make a noticeable difference to confidence and control on steeper trails.

The cockpit uses a short 50mm XLC stem and wide flat handlebar with 9-degree backsweep, creating a controlled riding position that suits the bike's trail-focused character. An XLC MTB Sport saddle completes the setup.

Overall, the Ghost Kato FS keeps things straightforward, combining adjustable air suspension, a simple 1x drivetrain, four-piston brakes and a dropper post. It's a good choice for newer mountain bikers who want the added comfort and control of full suspension as they progress onto rougher and more technical trails.
