The Giant TCR Advanced SL 0 Dura-Ace sits at the top of the TCR range, combining Giant's Advanced SL-grade composite frameset with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 and lightweight CADEX components. It's designed as an all-round race bike, balancing low weight and pedalling stiffness with aerodynamic efficiency for climbing, accelerating and riding quickly across varied terrain.
Giant has developed the frame, fork, wheels and cockpit as a complete system rather than treating each component in isolation. This system approach aims to balance weight, stiffness and aerodynamics across the complete bike, helping the TCR remain efficient whether you're accelerating out of a corner, climbing or holding speed on flatter roads.
The Advanced SL-grade composite frame uses Giant's highest-level carbon construction and features an integrated seatpost. Compared with the previous generation, Giant has increased the stiffness-to-weight ratio while reducing overall weight, creating a responsive platform that transfers pedalling effort efficiently when climbing or accelerating.
Aerodynamics also play a greater role in this generation of TCR. Truncated ellipse tube profiles help reduce drag without moving away from the lightweight character of the bike, while the integrated front end creates a cleaner airflow path. Giant claims the complete TCR Advanced SL 0 configuration provides a 4.19-watt aerodynamic advantage over the previous generation.
The Advanced SL-grade composite fork uses a full-composite OverDrive Aero steerer and a 12x100mm thru-axle. Its design works with the frame and cockpit to combine accurate steering with a cleaner aerodynamic profile.
At the front of the bike, a Giant Contact SLR AeroLight stem and Contact SLR carbon handlebar integrate with the OverDrive Aero steerer. Cables, spacers and the top cap are incorporated into the system, reducing exposed cabling while retaining a setup designed to be more practical to work with than a fully one-piece cockpit.
Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 provides electronic 2x12-speed shifting. The R9250 front and rear derailleurs are paired with a 52/36T Dura-Ace chainset and 11-34T cassette, giving the bike a broad range for steep climbs and fast riding while retaining the smaller gear steps that make it easier to maintain a comfortable cadence.
The size-specific crank lengths range from 165mm on XS and S bikes through to 172.5mm on L and XL sizes. A CEMA ceramic press-fit bottom bracket completes the crankset setup, with the aim of keeping drivetrain friction low.
Shimano Dura-Ace hydraulic disc brakes provide controlled braking with RT-CL900 rotors. A 160mm front rotor provides additional braking capacity where it's most useful, while the smaller 140mm rear rotor helps keep weight down while maintaining balanced braking performance.
CADEX Max 40 WheelSystem carbon wheels are fitted front and rear. Their 40mm rim depth strikes a balance between aerodynamic efficiency and low weight, making them suited to the TCR's all-round race focus rather than prioritising either climbing or flat-road aerodynamics alone.
The wheelset uses CADEX R3 Aero hubs, with an R3-C48 rear hub featuring a 48-tooth ratchet driver for quick engagement. CADEX Aero carbon spokes further contribute to the wheelset's focus on low weight and aerodynamic performance.
CADEX Race GC 700x30mm tyres come fitted as standard. Their 30mm width provides more air volume than narrower traditional race tyres, helping improve comfort and grip while retaining a fast-rolling road setup. Tubeless construction also allows compatible lower-pressure setups and sealant puncture protection.
The integrated seatpost is part of the Advanced SL frame rather than a conventional removable seatpost. It offers -5mm or +15mm offset adjustment and is paired with a CADEX AMP saddle, keeping the contact points in line with the lightweight, performance-focused build.
Overall, the TCR Advanced SL 0 Dura-Ace is built around balanced race performance rather than focusing on a single strength. Low weight and high stiffness support climbing and acceleration, while the redesigned tube profiles, integrated cockpit and 40mm CADEX wheels add aerodynamic efficiency for faster sections and sustained efforts.
