Does the job!

Being a bit of an L-plate cycle mechanic, I neglected to specify a seven speed hub for my replacement wheel, hence I got an 8 speed one. This product saved the day. Yes, as others have said, it's a little small but 30 mins filing made it fit. Make sure it can rotate on the hub though - it has to so you can line up the rivets with the slots. One final issue: I had to turn the H-screw on the derailleur to persuade it to reach the small sprocket, but apart from that, all is well.

Hub Spacer

Changed a faulty freebody on my old HT and as keeping the original 7spd cassette needed this spacer. Product arrived quickly, was well packed and was good value compared with other sites. Will use tredz again.

Great product wrong product

Can't fault delivery time or product. Unfortunately didn't fit cassette - bad description or my understanding of free hub vs whatever the other ones called? Don't know but ordered another spacer that does fit and use this on my keyring to show I'm a man that knows about bikes and stuff.

Seems to fit perfectly

I have used one of these to fit a 7-speed HG50 Shimano cassette onto a Shimano 11-speed hub alongside the 1.85mm spacer that came with the wheel. Perfect fit.

Does the job perfectly

Used to fit a 7-speed cassette to a new wheel with an 8/9 speed freehub. Does the job perfectly - nice cut-outs for the rivets. Excellent value.

halo spacer

Purchased this spacer to fit 7 speed cassette onto a 8/9/10 speed hub onto my new back wheel. Due to the wheel that I had the bearings colapsing in the fixed hub that was on the bike.

Halo 4.5mm cassette spacer

Used this to fit a 7spd shimano HG cassette onto a new 8/9 speed hub. As previous review said a very tight fit needed to rub down inner face slightly. Make sure you line up the cut outs with the rivet heads on the back of the largest sprocket and everything fits perfectly.Very Happy.

Not much cop.

It didn't do the job for me. It doesn't work with a Shimano HG cassette because unlike sram the smallest cog wont slide right on to the cassette. Just use an 8spd cassette and adjust the H screw on the rear mech to eliminate the smallest cog.

Casettes Guide

What are cassettes?

A bike cassette is the cluster of rear gear cogs attached to the rear wheel.

Who needs a cassette?

Any conventional derailleur-geared bike has a cassette, whether it’s a road bike, a mountain bike or a hybrid. The alternatives are a singlespeed or a hub gear on the rear wheel.

What are the choices?

The main difference between cassettes is the number and size of gear cogs on them. Seven, eight, nine, 10 and 11-speed are the most common.

What should I buy with them?

If you’re replacing your cassette, sometimes you have to replace other parts of your drive train such as your chain or chainrings. This is because they wear evenly together.

Anything else?

With some cassettes you don’t need to replace the whole unit. Instead, just part of the cluster is detachable, so you only swap out the most worn cogs.
