“ For several years now i've had terrible sores on my left hand where it touches the left STI hood. Countless doctors visits, useless creams, even tried swapping the gear shift knob in my car. Tried everything to fix it but eventually traced it back to using Shimano optislick gear cables. They are a disaster for bikes with exposed cable running under the bottom bracket because the coating scrapes off and gums up the cable path resulting in about three times as much force required to operate the shifter. Since i switched to Jagwire pro polished shift cable, my hand has cleared up and shifting is perfect and i don't need to clean the bottom bracket after every ride. Can't rate them enough.
