The Lapierre Xelius DRS 6.0 is a performance-focused carbon road bike developed from Lapierre's experience with professional racing. Rather than specialising solely in climbing or flat-road speed, the Xelius is designed as a versatile platform for riders who want responsive handling across climbs, descents and faster sections of road.
The carbon frame uses a distinctive seat stay design to balance performance with comfort. The extended seat stays connect further forward around the top tube rather than directly to the seat tube. This leaves more of the seat tube free to flex, while the stays are designed to provide vertical and lateral compliance and help disperse road vibration through the top tube.
A Lapierre UD SLI carbon fork complements the frame, helping keep the front end light and responsive. An Acros integrated headset and semi-integrated cable routing contribute to a clean appearance without fully concealing the cockpit components.
The cockpit combines a 90mm Lapierre alloy stem with a carbon aero drop handlebar. The bar has 70mm reach, 130mm drop and a subtle 5-degree flare, balancing a traditional road position with a little additional width at the drops.
Shimano 105 Di2 provides electronic 2x12-speed shifting. R7150 front and rear derailleurs are controlled through Shimano ST-R7170 shift/brake levers, giving electronic gear changes across the 24 available gear combinations.
A Shimano 105 R7100 chainset is paired with a 105 CS-R7101-12 cassette and Shimano CN-M7100 12-speed chain. Together, these components provide a predominantly Shimano drivetrain with electronic shifting and a two-chainring setup suited to varied road gradients.
Shimano 105 R7170 hydraulic disc brakes provide braking at both wheels, with 160mm rotors front and rear. The hydraulic system offers controlled braking with consistent lever feel, useful when managing speed on longer descents or in changing weather conditions.
DT Swiss E 1800 Spline wheels use 30mm-deep rims and are tubeless compatible. They're paired with 25mm Schwalbe One Performance tyres featuring RaceGuard and MicroSkin construction, providing a performance-oriented road setup.
The tubeless-compatible wheels also give riders the option of moving to an appropriate tubeless tyre setup in the future, allowing lower pressures to be used for additional comfort and grip while sealant can help deal with smaller punctures.
A dedicated Lapierre Xelius DRS carbon seatpost uses zero offset and measures 350mm long. It's paired with a Prologo Dimension saddle with STN rails, completing the bike's performance-focused contact points.
A Shimano PressFit BB71-41B bottom bracket supports the 105 R7100 chainset, while the integrated headset, carbon aero bar and semi-integrated routing help give the Xelius DRS a clean and purposeful appearance.
Overall, the Lapierre Xelius DRS 6.0 combines race-developed carbon construction with a frame design intended to provide useful compliance for longer rides. Shimano 105 Di2, DT Swiss wheels and hydraulic disc brakes make it a versatile option for riders looking for a fast road bike suited to climbing, descending and everyday performance riding.
Please note: Lapierre states that the frame is covered by a two-year warranty. Component availability may also result in some parts being substituted with equivalent alternatives.
