Product description

Machined aluminium design

The Lezyne Power Drive 900XL is a high powered front bike light. The machined aluminium body provides protection from the elements and is durable. Cutaways at the side of the Power Drive light increase sideways visibility.

Urban & Country Night Road Biking

My commute is 2 miles urban and 6 miles country roads on a road bike. I have mounted the light on the bars and the helmet and happy there's no "slippage". Multiple modes allow for battery saving in town and the full beam allows safe descents at 35mph. For the price of the light I'm impressed with battery life and the battery warning LED is very useful. I would recommend to friends but if you are planning longer night rides 2h+ get a light with a battery pack.

front light

A quality bit of kit which is very versatile, lots of different modes. Takes about four hours to charge but once charged is extremely bright. I found the attaching strap a bit fiddly but once on is nice and secure.

Very bright well-built and practical light

This light suits me perfectly with it's programmed setting to switch between high output and economy mode when I am travelling from lighted streets to pitch black off road sections of my journey. The light is also nice and compact, looks good, and mounts easily on the handlebars. It is completely stable even on bumpy off road sections.

Excellent all-in-one compact light!

I recently purchased this as an additional light to use off-road. The light output is significantly better than expected! I have a selection of cheap Chinese lights which have comparable light output but quoted as being 1600lm. The Lezyne has a much broader spread of light as opposed to the concentrated spot beams of the res, however still casts sufficient light a good 50-60m ahead. Really impressive! Charging takes about 4 hours on a USB wall charger and there's a status light that tells you when the unit is charging and when it has completed the cycle. The micro USB charging port is well protected from the elements and is engineered such that the cable plug cannot put strain on the internals of the light unit. There are two modes of operation, selected by pressing and holding the power button for around 5 seconds. One mode gives you two flashing modes, a low and a high power output to 600lm. The other mode gives just a low and high to 900lm. I use the latter as I'm not using this on the road and need constant light with simple control. The unit is well built, with an elasticated rubber strap that allows a degree of swivel in two planes - simple and effective! On full power the light lasts for around 2 hours. Throughout the discharge cycle, the illuminated LED power button changes from green, to Amber, to red, to flashing red as the battery discharges, so you get a good idea of the state of the battery. When flashing red is displayed, the light output steps down to a very low level and auto power down is then imminent. There's no way to replace the batteries on this unit, which is a bit of a shame, but considering the price and intended use, the unit is good value. The light output is easily sufficient for fairly fast night off-road riding, so is adequate as a standalone for short rides. What I like is the simplicity of this light - no loose wires, no battery pack. I was planning on buying a 2600lm lamp to use in combination, but might just stick with this and my old headlights.
