The perfect part

If you need a front derailleur bolt on clamp this is the one to go for. Solid build, clamp bolt secured by a lock nut so won't come loose. It has a slot mounting bracket so you don't have to undo clamp when doing vertical adjustment. This also allows some leeway in position of the clamp on the seatube to suit your bike. Looks good too. Brilliant!

Better than Shimano's!

Bought this to fit a braze on 105 front dérailleur as part of a groupset which does not have the option of band on. After fitting this, never using band on again. Like another reviewer said, with the slot in it, once you have it fitted squarely on your frame, you do not need to unclamp it should you need to make a minor adjustment or replace the dérailleur. Shimano's own version not only costs more, but is less versatile as it only has a hole, no adjustment. I have bought another of these to replace said shimano adapter on another bike. Also, it is well made and clamps on easily. Fit and forget!

Can't find fault.

I've used some other clamps like this in the past that aren't as well made yet cost more. This one feels solid as a rock once fitted, and is nicely finished. Couldn't ask for more really.

brilliant value and quality

Hi This was wanted for carbon frame, brilliant value and quality. Once fitted never needs moved because of slot.

Braze on hanger clamp

This is well constructed and very well priced compared to manufactures own solutions. Having the long slot instead of a single hole means you can rotate the deraileur with the clamp to the correct angle, lock it off, and make minor height adjustments using the slot without fear of taking it out of alignment.

Derailleur/Mech Guide

What are derailleurs and mechs?

Derailleurs and mechs are two names for the same thing – the parts of your drive train that move the chain between chainrings for the front derailleur/mech and between the cassette cogs for the rear derailleur/mech.

Who needs a derailleur or mech?

Not all bikes have derailleurs, but if your bike has conventional gearing rather than singlespeed or hub gears, you will have at least a rear derailleur. These parts are exposed and somewhat vulnerable to damage, so you may need to replace them if this happens.

What are the choices?

Your choice will largely depend on what is compatible with the rest of your drivetrain, but there are different options for road and mountain bike, by the big three manufacturers, Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo.

What should I buy with them?

If you’re replacing a front or rear mech, you may need to replace some other parts of your drivetrain as well, for compatibility or because you want them to wear together. These might include the chainrings, rear cassette or chain.

Anything else?

It’s not just compatibility with your other components you need to consider with a mech replacement. Derailleurs also have different fittings for various frame compatibilities, including braze-on fittings and a bolt-on collar.
