The Marin Alpine Trail 2 is built for riders who enjoy steep descents, technical trails and big mountain days. Designed around a long-travel aluminium chassis, it delivers the stability needed for high-speed riding while retaining the versatility to climb efficiently and adapt to different styles of riding.
Its Series 4 6061 aluminium frame uses Marin's proven MultiTrac LT suspension platform, delivering 160mm of rear wheel travel that balances sensitivity over small bumps with support through bigger impacts. Modern enduro geometry inspires confidence on demanding descents, while full internal cable routing keeps the frame looking clean and protects cables from mud and trail debris.
One of the Alpine Trail 2's standout features is its adjustability. Riders can alter the head angle along with the bottom bracket height and chainstay length to tailor the bike's handling for different trails or riding preferences. The frame is also compatible with either the supplied mullet wheel setup or a full 29-inch configuration, allowing even greater flexibility depending on the terrain.
Up front, the RockShox Zeb Select+ fork provides 170mm of travel with the stiffness and support needed for aggressive riding. At the rear, the RockShox Vivid Air Select+ shock is custom tuned to work with the MultiTrac suspension platform, helping the rear wheel maintain traction and composure through rough rock gardens, roots and repeated impacts.
The SRAM Eagle 70 12-speed drivetrain delivers dependable shifting with a wide gear range that makes technical climbs more manageable while still providing the gears needed for fast trail sections. A 10-51T cassette offers plenty of flexibility for varied terrain.
SRAM Maven Bronze four-piston hydraulic disc brakes, paired with large 200mm rotors front and rear, provide powerful and consistent braking performance. Their strong stopping power and excellent heat management help maintain confidence on long, steep descents.
The mixed-wheel configuration combines a 29-inch front wheel for improved rollover and stability with a 27.5-inch rear wheel for quicker acceleration and increased manoeuvrability through tighter corners. Marin's tubeless-ready alloy rims are fitted with a Maxxis Assegai MaxxGrip front tyre and Maxxis Minion DHR II MaxxTerra rear tyre, providing dependable grip, predictable cornering and durability across a wide range of trail conditions.
Practical features continue throughout the frame. The integrated Bear Box downtube storage includes a zipped internal bag, providing convenient space for tools, snacks or trail essentials without needing a backpack. A 34.9mm X-Fusion Manic dropper post offers increased strength and compatibility with longer-travel posts, helping riders move freely around the bike on steep descents.
With its adjustable geometry, premium suspension and practical storage, the Marin Alpine Trail 2 is well equipped for everything from enduro racing to big days in the mountains, giving riders a capable platform that's ready to take on demanding trails.
