At its core is a completely re-engineered Series 4 alloy frame featuring the latest MultiTrac 2 LT suspension platform, offering 180mm of rear travel. By moving pivot points from the seatstay to the chainstay, Marin has enhanced chassis control under braking, improved mid-stroke support, and increased sensitivity at the bottom of the stroke. The design also allows for flip chip geometry adjustment, letting you choose between low BB/long chainstays or high BB/short chainstays ideal for tailoring your ride to the terrain or switching to a 29" or 27.5" rear wheel.
Up front, the legendary RockShox Boxxer delivers 200mm of supple, race-proven travel, while the RockShox Vivid Coil Ultimate DH shock handles the hits with precision tuning, hydraulic bottom-out control, and independent compression damping.
The SRAM GX DH 7-speed drivetrain is geared specifically for gravity use, with tight, purposeful shifts and a durable build. Paired with a Descendant 34T crankset, it’s ready for everything from freeride features to high-speed rock gardens.
Braking is handled by SRAM Maven Bronze 4-piston callipers with massive 200mm HS2 rotors, giving you all the stopping power and modulation needed for the steepest tracks. The 29" Marin double-wall rims are wrapped in Maxxis Assegai 2.5" DH-casing tyres, tubeless-ready and grippy enough for hard-charging downhill sessions.
Thoughtful frame protection features include rubberised guards on the chainstay and seatstays, a down tube bash plate, a shuttle pad for tailgate transport, and sealed internal cable ports for a clean and quiet ride.
From freeride lines to World Cup-level descents, the Marin Quake 29 is built to perform under pressure. It’s a precision-tuned, heavy-hitting platform designed for serious gravity riders who want confidence at every corner, jump and landing.
Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

* Mountain bikes are sized differently to road bikes. Typically, they are sized in inches as the first MTBs were produced in the USA. European brands like Lapierre and Haibike like to use centimetres for all their bikes. The measurements of their mountain bikes doesn’t match their road bikes but are like a simple conversion from the inches measurement. This is why we have included cm measurements in brackets for the Mountain bike column.
Read our bike size guide for more information on sizing.
