Product Description

Available to buy as a wheelset, front or rear wheel

Get flying with the Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon Disc INTL Road Wheels. For use with disc brakes and clincher tyres, the Cosmic wheels are lightweight and fast, making an excellent upgrade to your road bike.

Instant Drive 360

Using Mavic’s Instant Drive 360, the freehub is fast rolling with little friction and have quick engagement, wasting no time in getting power from your legs to the road. Allowing for easy maintenance, the hubs feature replaceable sealed cartridge bearings.

Convertible Hubs

The hubs are convertible from quick release to 12x100mm (front) and 12x142mm (rear) with the supplied adaptors. The front can also be made to accept 15x100mm with additional adaptors that are sold separately. The wheels are available in International 6-bolt disc rotor standard.

Maxtal Alloy Rims

The Maxtal alloy rims feature a 17mm internal width to give the 25c tyres more support. The 12k carbon flange is bonded to the alloy internal rim to add lateral stiffness and aerodynamic efficiency.

Double Butted Spokes

With 24 spokes front and rear, weight is kept to a minimum. The double butted, bladed steel spokes add further aerodynamic efficiency and are a 2 cross pattern lacing in the front and Isopulse pattern in the rear.

25c Yksion Pro Tyres

The Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon Disc road wheels come with Yksion Pro tyres in 25c size. The front tyre gets Mavic’s GripLink compound that offers excellent grip, while the rear has the PowerLink compound for super low rolling resistance. This gives a perfect balance between fast riding and cornering control.

    No complaints

Apart from, rather stupidly, not realising I needed adapters to make both wheels work as quick release, thanks to the universal nature of the hubs, I can't say a bad thing about these wheels. I expected the carbon fairing to be flimsy but it's a lot stiffer than expected. Noticeable positive impact on performance, comfort and responsiveness; especially at speed and in climbs.

    Stiff but flimsy

Basically these are aluminium wheels wit paper thin layer of carbon that feels really soft and delicate. Very stiff, good looking and my average speed has risen, good shock absorption. They feel heavy, acceleration is bad. My old Chinese wheels had better feel about them.
