Product Description

Max grip with lower rolling resistance. The Maxxis Minion DHF is tubeless ready folding tyre for 26” wheels. Designed to excel in loose conditions this is a classic aggressive front tyre that can also be used as a rear.

The Minion DHF was designed for the often loose and muddy conditions of aggressive all-mountain terrain. The DHF incorporates ramped knobs for low rolling resistance and channel-cut knobs to increase gripping edges, giving straight-line control and precise cornering.

Key Features:

  • Tread: Directional, ramped knob design
  • Conditions: Loose over hard, Medium, Loose, Wet
  • Cornering Control: 3
  • Rolling Efficiency: 3
  • Compatibility: Front and rear
  • TPI: 60
  • Bead: Folding
  • Ply Construction: Single
  • Sidewalls: EXO protection
  • Compound: Dual
  • Tubeless: TR Tubeless Ready
  • Max PSI: 60

Technology

Tubeless Ready: Tubeless tyres give the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty. Our TR tyres use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight.

EXO: An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tyres. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.

Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

You can't beat Minions for most stuff

You can't beat a Minion dhf for most trail riding. This is slightly wider than the old 2.35 minions and 60a has plenty of grip too. I'm running this out front. I fitted this tubeless on a DT Swiss 445D rim with gorilla tape and Stans. It was a little tricky to seat but I don't think that was down to the tyre as I've fitted EXO tyres on other rims with no trouble at all - when I replace the tape I'll use 2 layers and expect that to make it easier. No issues when up. Tubeless casing seems perfect and there's no sign of sealant having to fill any holes in the casing. Sidewalls seem pretty good and it doesn't squirm at low pressures on the front. Combine this with a High Roller II or another dhf on the rear and you've a great setup for all other than the thickest of mud.

not just for DH

used this tyre for years, reliable grip and rolls well. First time I've purchased the exo tr version. Setting up tubeless was easy, tyre inflated using trackpump and no sealant (other tubless tyres I've used have needed an airline and leaked a lot of sealant to seal) I have since fitted it properly (was only testing it without sealant) minimal sealant lost, popped onto the rim with ease (Stan arch ex) and has sealed without a problem. I use this tyre for trail riding and find it superb. The 2.3 width was very similar to my old Onza Ibex 2.25. I use this tyre all year round and have always been happy with it's performance
