Built from lightweight TFS 6061 double-butted aluminium, the Big Trail’s frame combines strength and precision. Smooth welds, internal cable routing, and Boost hub spacing give it a premium look and feel while ensuring excellent stiffness and handling. The geometry is modern and progressive, with a 64° head angle for downhill stability and a 76.5° seat angle for efficient climbing.
Up front, a SR Suntour XCR34 2CR air fork with 140mm of travel smooths out rough trails and roots, offering adjustability and lockout for varied terrain. The 29” wheels roll fast over obstacles, while 2.4” Kenda Regolith tyres deliver reliable grip on loose and rocky surfaces.
Shifting is handled by the new Shimano CUES U4000 9-speed drivetrain, offering crisp gear changes and durability for trail use. Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors provide predictable stopping power, giving riders full control in all weather conditions.
The Big Trail also includes a Merida dropper seatpost, allowing on-the-fly saddle height adjustment for steep descents or technical sections. Thoughtful details like internal cable routing, tubeless-ready rims, and inboard disc mounts add practicality and refinement.
Originally inspired by input from UK riders, the Big Trail series was created around a simple but effective formula: a long-travel fork, 29” wheels, 1x drivetrain, and a dropper post, everything you need for real-world trail riding. The result is a bike that climbs efficiently, descends confidently, and handles the kind of mixed terrain British riders love.
