The Merida Etmo 500 Pro is designed to deliver dependable full-suspension e-MTB performance without unnecessary complexity. Inspired by Merida’s longer-travel e-bike platforms, the aluminium frame combines confident trail geometry with 140mm of rear suspension travel to create a capable and versatile ride feel across technical trails, flowing singletrack and longer off-road adventures.
Its mullet wheel setup pairs a 29in front wheel for rollover confidence with a 27.5in rear wheel for improved agility and manoeuvrability through tighter corners and technical sections. Combined with Merida’s proven geometry, the result is a planted and balanced ride that feels stable on descents while remaining responsive on climbs and flatter terrain.
Suspension duties are handled by an SR Suntour Zeron 36X air fork and SR Suntour Edge X R rear shock, both offering 140mm travel to smooth rough terrain and maintain traction across roots, rocks and uneven surfaces. A long-travel Merida dropper post further improves confidence when descending steeper trails.
Power comes from Bosch’s latest Performance Line CX motor delivering 85Nm of torque, paired with a high-capacity 800Wh battery for impressive range and strong climbing support. Riders also have the option to unlock Bosch Performance Update 2.0 through the Bosch Flow app, increasing peak torque output to 120Nm while allowing motor behaviour to be customised to suit riding style and terrain.
Shimano’s CUES 1x10 drivetrain offers reliable shifting and durable LinkGlide technology that is designed to cope well with the demands of e-bike riding. Powerful SRAM DB4 Stealth four-piston hydraulic brakes with 200mm rotors provide confident braking performance on steep and technical terrain.
Tubeless-ready Merida wheels are fitted with aggressive Maxxis tyres, including a Minion DHF front and Dissector rear combination, giving dependable grip and predictable handling in mixed trail conditions. The Etmo 500 Pro offers a well-rounded package for riders looking to explore more demanding trails with the added support and range of a modern full-power e-MTB.

* Mountain bikes are sized differently to road bikes. Typically, they are sized in inches as the first MTBs were produced in the USA. European brands like Lapierre and Haibike like to use centimeters for all their bikes. The measurements of their mountain bikes doesn’t match their road bikes but is like a simple conversion from the inches measurement. This is why we have included cm measurements in brackets for the e mountain bike column.
