The Speeder 300 is built around Merida’s triple-butted 6066 aluminium, hydroformed to tune each tube for a balance of comfort and responsiveness. This shaping helps the bike feel lively when you’re pressing on, yet smooth enough for longer spins or rougher city routes. Internal cable routing keeps things tidy, while mounts for a rack, mudguards and a kickstand give the frame plenty of everyday practicality. Tyre clearance up to 35mm (or 32mm with mudguards) adds comfort and grip on mixed roads.
Up front, the full carbon CF2 fork features a tapered steerer, which adds stiffness for precise steering while also helping absorb road buzz. The upright position and flat bars provide confident control and a clear view of the road around you, which is especially useful when navigating traffic or busy shared paths.
Shimano’s Tiagra drivetrain delivers reliable 20-speed gearing, giving you enough range for climbs, steady cruising and everything in between. Paired with the RS400 chainset and HG500 11-32 cassette, gear changes feel smooth and predictable. Hydraulic disc brakes, centred around Shimano MT200 callipers and 180mm rotors, give controlled stopping power in all weather, which is ideal for riders heading out in varied conditions.
Merida Comp SL wheels bring a solid, dependable feel, with tubeless-ready rims should you wish to upgrade. They’re wrapped in Kenda Piedmond 35mm tyres, adding comfort and grip while keeping rolling speed steady. Finishing kit from Merida’s Expert and Comp ranges keeps things lightweight and functional, with a flat 600mm bar and aluminium stem that vary in length by size for a consistent fit across the range.
Overall, the Speeder 300 blends efficient road-bike speed with the comfort and control of a flat-bar setup, making it well suited to fitness rides, daily commutes and general fast-paced riding.
