The Orbea Carpe 25 is an urban e-bike designed around the practical demands of everyday riding. Its lightweight construction and Urban Active Geometry aim to keep the bike agile and easy to handle, whether you're navigating busy streets, tackling the daily commute or moving the bike around when you've reached your destination.
The hydroformed 6061 aluminium frame combines with a carbon rigid fork to keep unnecessary weight down. The frame is designed around Orbea's cockpit and equipment ecosystem, giving you options to adapt the bike to different everyday uses. It's also supplied with a kickstand and is compatible with a trailer, adding useful versatility for carrying extra kit.
One of the Carpe's standout features is how easily it can fit into smaller spaces. The pedals fold away and the handlebar is designed to turn neatly in line with the bike, reducing its overall width for storage. That's particularly useful if the bike needs to be kept in a hallway, apartment, workplace or other restricted space.
Electric assistance comes from Shimano's EP600 drive system. Orbea has tuned the system around the Carpe's urban focus, aiming for smooth and natural assistance when accelerating away from traffic lights or tackling hills. It's paired with an integrated 420Wh battery, balancing useful range with the Carpe's emphasis on keeping weight manageable.
A Shimano EN500 interface provides control over the electric assistance system and lets you view key ride and system information while you're on the move.
The drivetrain uses Shimano CUES components, with a U4000 Shadow rear derailleur and SL-U4000 shifter providing nine gears. A wide-range 11-46T SunRace cassette gives you useful lower gearing for steeper climbs while keeping the 1x setup straightforward to use and maintain.
Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes provide predictable braking for everyday riding. Hydraulic operation gives consistent braking with relatively little lever effort, helping you manage speed confidently when riding in changing traffic and weather conditions.
The 700c alloy wheels are fitted with 45mm Pirelli Cinturato All Road tyres. Their higher volume adds cushioning over rough tarmac and broken road surfaces, while the versatile tread makes them suitable for a mixture of paved roads, cycle paths and smoother unpaved routes. They're also tubeless ready, giving you the option to convert the setup in the future.
Comfort is further supported by the Selle Royal Vivo Ergo saddle, while the aluminium seatpost incorporates a light to help improve visibility. Orbea's wider approach to the Carpe also includes integrated lighting and provisions for security and tracker-related equipment, helping make the bike better suited to regular urban use.
The Carpe 25 is built to be as practical when you're off the bike as it is when you're riding. With compact storage features, a kickstand, trailer compatibility, wide tyres and adaptable equipment options alongside its Shimano electric assistance, it's well suited to commuting and everyday journeys where convenience matters.
