At the centre of the bike is Orbea’s hydroformed triple-butted aluminium frame. By adding material in high-stress areas and reducing it where less is needed, the frame balances durability with a responsive ride feel. The design also includes a small amount of built-in compliance, which improves comfort and traction when riding rough terrain.

The modern trail geometry features a low, slack stance combined with a steep seat tube angle. This setup helps the bike feel stable and confident on descents while still climbing efficiently. Chainstay shaping also provides clearance for high-volume tyres up to 2.6in, adding grip and cushioning on technical trails.

Up front, the Fox 34 Float AWL Sport fork offers 140mm of travel. The stiff chassis and air spring help keep the front end controlled when the trail gets rough, while still allowing the bike to remain lively on smoother sections.

Shifting comes from a Shimano 12-speed drivetrain combining a Deore shifter with an SLX rear derailleur and a wide-range 10–51T cassette. Paired with a 32T chainring, this setup offers a broad gear range for steep climbs and fast descents. Shimano M6100 hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power and consistent modulation.

The Laufey rolls on tubeless-ready 29in wheels fitted with Maxxis Dissector 2.6in tyres, delivering strong grip and predictable cornering on varied terrain. An OC Mountain Control dropper seatpost allows quick saddle height adjustments for better control on descents and technical features.

Practical touches help make the bike ready for everyday riding. Orbea’s Lockr downtube storage system keeps tools and essentials tucked neatly inside the frame, while internal cable routing keeps the bike quiet and tidy.
