Technologies:

Space: This is a modified version of the Prologo PAS technology. The cutaway eliminates pressure peaks and pelvic numbness. Unlike regular cut-outs, it remains effective over the course of long rides. Compared to PAS, SPACE tech features a larger anatomical channel that drives along the saddle around the central axis. The padding is 3mm thicker, and features multi density foam along the length. Furthermore, the Space saddles are wider for greater Ischial support. This technology is particularly suited to riders with wider sit bones/female riders.

TiroX: Lightweight alloy steel rail. This is an aerospace grade metal, with a high resistance to traction and torsion. Well suited to the stresses of a performance saddle, it offers a good alternative to carbon Nack rails. It has 7mm rail clamp diameter.

ESD: Ergo Shape Design: This is a refined saddle shape, developed as a result of biomechanical studies done by Prologo over several years. ESD saddles feature a slender front area and a short rear area that quickly reaches maximum width. This permits a round pedal stroke, allowing the rider to maintain a natural position.  The legs of the cyclist have more space during all phases of the pedal stroke, reducing friction and increasing alignment and performance. Finally, the opening swift of the rear part of the saddle helps the rider to find the correct support and support of the ischial bones. This prevents sliding forward and any rotation of the pelvis.

Active Density: This is the combination of different densities of foam and different rigidities in the base of the saddle, for optimal comfort and performance. At the rear the foam has a higher density for stability. In the centre the foam is of lower density, giving maximum comfort to the perineal area where pressure peaks can occur. In the tip of the saddle, the foam has a lower density, which allows a pressure reduction during maximum thrust. The Carbon Fibre Injection base also has variable rigidity, providing stability at the rear and comfort in the middle and front. Furthermore, the special openings in the hull make the base of the saddle more elastic to provide extra comfort when pedalling in a relaxed position, whilst providing great stiffness during the phases of maximum thrust.

Did not work for me

The build quality of the saddle is very good and it looks superb. However, unlike other reviews I found this the most uncomfortable saddle I have tried, and I have tried a good few... I do have good shorts but after a 50 mile ride I was in pain for days afterwards. I understand that the saddle is probably good for others but definitely not for me. My search for a saddle that 'fits' me continues...

Great saddle !!

Having previously purchased the white version for my Specialized Tarmac the black version has now been fitted to my winter bike. 100% comfortable on the mid/longer rides due to the semi rounded shape. Finally found the saddle that works for me. Excellent quality and construction makes this Prologo saddle a top notch product. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Comfort

Finally took the plunge and purchased the 141 width version of this saddle in white/black to put on my Specialized Tarmac. It has turned out to be the most comfortable saddle I have ridden in 40 years as a cyclist. I tend to ride longer distances such as sportives and having just returned from a 70 mile jaunt I cannot fault this saddle. I am so impressed I have just pressed the button and ordered a black version for my other road bike. I would 100% recommend this saddle as it offers excellent comfort, value for money and is superbly constructed.

Saddles Guide

What are saddles?

The saddle is your bicycle seat.

Who needs a saddle?

Saddles do become worn over time and need replacing, but many people choose to upgrader the standard saddle on their new bike to something more suitable for their needs.

What are the choices?

You can choose saddles in different widths, for male or female riders. There’s not really a clear division between road and mountain bike saddles, so you need to choose a shape and type suited for your physiology as much as your riding style.

What should I buy with them?

Saddles are only one half of the backside comfort equation – reward your rear with a padded set of cycling shorts for full comfort.

Anything else?

There’s no single shape of saddle that’s comfortable for everyone – some people prefer deep padding and lots of cleverly designed pressure relief cut outs. Others favour a flat, no nonsense design.
