Product Description

For maximum visibility on the roads choose the Proviz Reflect 360+ cycling jacket. The big brother of the ultra-popular Reflect 360, this advanced version comes with a lighter weight technical fabric so when you’re pounding the tarmac you don’t overheat.

Key to this cycling jacket is visibility. When in daylight the fabric looks a modest grey colour. However, the 360+ picks up any external light source and greatly improves your presence in low light conditions.

A great feature for commuters are the shoulder and back vents which offer excellent through flow. You can also adjust the front zipper for maximum ventilation when you’re feeling the heat. The Reflect 360+ is water resistant, great for quick rides to work or the shops.

Raglan sleeves are designed so that freedom of movement is improved in the shoulder and upper back area for more comfort as you ride. Inside chest and back pockets are great places to stash ride essentials whilst offering them protection from the elements.

Proviz 360+

If buying for commuting it's ok, if for any serious training don't bother. Its only plus is its reflectivity. Supposed to be a more refined fitting over the standard 360 but thats so subtle it feels like your wearing a dustbin sack, not really technical enough to offer anything between being too hot or too cold and not having tabs on the side zips makes it hard to open and close the zippers. Size wise go for a size or two smaller as they come up massive.

Excellent quality

I had a fairly standard yellow day glow jacket for last 4 years from another company. I washed it once too often and yellow came off!. Day after I was coming home and nearly killed by a driver in the dark even tho I have two good headlights! I decided I had to do what I had considered and that was to buy this jacket. It doesnt look bright to me but folks see me at a distance even in dimmed headlights comment that it is very clear. It is well made, great zips and material. Sizing is accurate. However my tummy sticks out a bit so it rubs a bit close there!! Not worn it more than a day but it is very comfortable, Very hopeful!!

Amazing reflective powers!

Incredibly reflective, this solves the 'dark cyclist' problem - amazing! Slightly heavier than expected so just a base layer under would be fine, great for commuting.

Fantastic

Bought one of these for the wife a short time ago and she was so impressed with it, I bought one for myself. It does everything it promises in the product description, it is hugely reflective, windproof, waterproof, well vented and a great fit. I was dubious about how well it would deal with wicking, given that it feels something like a 1970s plastic raincoat, however, having only owned this for a little over a week, it has dealt with wet, very wet, cool, warm, dry, windy conditions superbly, the material has super wicking abilities and has kept me cool on even the warmer days. I would certainly recommend this product. Lastly, despite this being out of stock when first ordered, I received updates through e-mails and by telephone from Tredz to keep me informed of progress which was first class customer service.

Amazed

Night riding feels a lot safer wearing this jacket. People seam to be giving me plenty of space, drivers of cars have commented how visible it is. Ideal for the commute with the vents and sizing is spot on, I'm 6'2 and fit XL, Highly recommended

Excellent!

I was worried the jacket would look funny in daylight, but it's smart looking, and when it catches the light 'wow' the technology is incredible! I definitely feel safe wearing this. It's quite a warm jacket, but it has been mild the last few days. It has a nice fit and is worth the cash.

Windproof Jackets Guide

Windproof Jackets Guide

When the mercury drops most people turn to putting to layering up to keep warm. However, when you’re cycling the last thing you want is to feel like the Michelin man, bound up, inflexible and uncomfortable. As you ride you’ll get warm very quickly, wearing all those layers will make you sweaty.

Why not choose a windproof cycling jacket instead? They’re ideal for cold dry winter days with most offering some type of light rain protection as well. Windproof jackets tend to be lighter than a waterproof model and are much more breathable.

You can also check out our waterproof cycling jacket guide if you’re planning to ride in the rain. By the end of our windproof cycling guide, you should have all the info you need to buy the right jacket.

Types of Windproof Jacket

Packable Windproof Jacket
| Spring & Autumn

For cool rather than cold rides, a packable windproof jacket may be all you need to keep the chill off. These jackets are very lightweight and are usually made of a single layer of fabric. They’re only a simple barrier between your skin and the elements.

However, these jackets usually have good breathability to stop you from feeling clammy on the inside. Even if it rains, a packable will dry quickly. Most can be rolled up into a small package and will fit in a spare jersey pocket.

Lightweight windproof jacket

Softshell Windproof Jacket
| Spring, Autumn & Winter

Softshell windproof jackets have been gaining popularity for a few years now. They’re heavier than a packable to block more wind and are smooth against your skin for a comfortable feel.

Softshell jackets can be worn over a base layer or a jersey on colder rides without the need for multiple layers to keep you warm. Many are treated with water resistance for light rain protection making them a practical jacket for a wide range of UK riding conditions. You can also pair a softshell with a lightweight packable waterproof jacket for maximum protection.

Fabric

The fabric is key to performance. Generally, the more you spend on a jacket the lighter and thinner the fabric will be. Breathability will improve as well, letting your sweat evaporate quickly.

Gore Windstopper is popular fabric laminating a lightweight membrane to the fabric. It’s designed to keep the wind out and will also help shed light rain too.

Other systems will include an inner lining, middle windproof membrane and then the outer layer, usually treated with DWR water repellency. This design keeps the wind out while staying breathable.

We’ve put together a technical fabric guide for clothing detailing the key fabrics from some of the biggest brands in the industry.

Fit

Windproof jackets come in many styles, so choose the type best suited to your riding. If you plan on training or racing, then a tighter fit with minimal excess fabric will help prevent drag as you ride.

If you’re commuting or riding off-road then a loose cut with more freedom of movement is a good option.
