Efficient, well made pump

This is my second purchase of this pump. Someone thought my last one looked better in their kit. It had worked well for eight years at pressures around 120psi.Why would I buy anything else! Sturdily made and excellent quality

Best track pump

This is the second of these pumps I have bought in eight years. Someone thought it fitted better in their kitbag than mine! The first one still worked perfectly after regular use up to 120psi. The sturdy build, quality gauge and reliable valve head knocks spots off other pumps that I have tried. I hope I manage to keep this one longer, it will outlast me if I do.

Fantastic!

Had many cheap bike pumps before properly reviewing the range and boy am I delighted with this SKS. The sheer quality of the build is evident in the robust wooden handles, the metal cylinder, foldable steel and rubber feet and the multifunction head while the thick rubber hose is extra long. The Germans certainly know their engineering and it looks like it will outlast me! Inflates to 65psi in half the time and far less effort than my old pumps. You will not be disappointed believe me.

Excellent Pump

Solid build and a classic design. Cast base and strong foot plates are built to last. Easy to read gauge too. There's also a wall mount kit available to keep the pump out of the way (SKS Article no.10219). Narrow body means a few extra strokes are required but it'll still get to 100psi in no time in a 28c. EVA head works with either Dunlop, Presta or Schrader.

This tyre pump is the business

The Rennkompressor track pump is solid - with a cast iron base and strong foot plates. Not many strokes are needed to fill a road tyre and the gauge is clear. At Tredz price its a bargain too, at the moment, Well packed in a strong box and sent promptly.

Bike Pumps Guide

What are bike pumps?

A bike pump is essential for keeping your tyres inflated, preventing pesky pinch punctures and providing more efficient riding. Tyres gradually deflate even if your bike stays inactive for a while, so it’s good practice to top them up as often as you can.

Who needs a bike pump?

Anyone with a bike. A mini pump or CO2 cannister can be vital in getting you home after a puncture, or to work on time if you’re commuting.

What are the choices?

Traditional pumps are easy to use and inexpensive to buy. A hand pump is operated with a pumping action and is available in standard or mini size. Both types can be fitted to eyelets in your bike frame or smaller pumps will fit in a saddle bag. Track or floor pumps are great for the garage – inflating high psi levels in just a couple of movements. CO2 cannister instantly release air into your tyres and are diminutive in size.

What should I buy with it?

If your pump isn’t compatible the valve on your tyre (Presta or Schrader) you may need to buy an adaptor. CO2 cartridges require a small adaptor for use.

Anything else?

A gauge is a good way of seeing how much air you’ve added, preventing the dreaded pop sound from an overambitious inflation. Also, NEVER take CO2 cartridges with you on an aeroplane!
