If you’re chasing big mountain lines, brutal climbs, and flat-out chaos on the descents, the Mondraker Vala CC XT Di2 is basically your new best mate. This isn’t just another e-MTB — it’s a full-send, no-holds-barred machine built for riders who want it all: power, precision, and proper trail attitude.
At the heart of it all is a premium carbon frame that keeps things stiff, light(ish), and seriously dialled when things get rowdy. Pair that with 160mm front and 150mm rear travel, and you’ve got a bike that absolutely eats up rough terrain for breakfast. Rock gardens, root webs, sketchy chutes — it just shrugs it all off and asks for more.
But let’s talk about the fun stuff — the motor. You’re getting a Bosch Performance CX drive unit, which basically means punchy, natural-feeling power whenever you need it. Steep climbs that used to ruin your legs? Now they’re just part of the warm-up. And with a neatly integrated 600Wh battery, you’ve got the juice for proper all-day missions without turning the bike into a tank.
The XT Di2 drivetrain is where things get seriously slick. We’re talking wireless, lightning-fast shifting that just works — even when you’re hammering through the gears mid-climb or charging into a descent. It’s precise, it’s smooth, and it makes mechanical shifting feel a bit… last season.
Handling-wise, this thing is bang on. The mixed wheel setup (29” up front, 27.5” out back) gives you that sweet combo of stability and agility. You get the confidence to charge hard into rough stuff, but still flick it around when the trail tightens up. It’s balanced, planted, and properly confidence-inspiring.
And then there’s the suspension. A FOX 38 up front and Float X out back means top-tier performance when it matters. Big hits? No drama. Fast, rough descents? Even less drama. It’s plush when you need it, supportive when you push it, and always ready for more.
Put simply, the Vala CC XT Di2 is built for riders who don’t hold back. It climbs like it’s got something to prove, descends like it owns the mountain, and keeps you grinning the whole way down.
Big power. Big travel. Big vibes.
Bosch Performance Update 2.0
Bosch have dropped a fresh update for the Performance Line CX and CX-R motors, and it’s a big one for riders who want more punch on the trails. The update is available for the latest generation motors with the codes BDU384Y and BDU386Y, and it can be installed straight from the Bosch eBike Flow app. Nice and easy.
Once you’ve downloaded Performance Update 2.0, you can crank the motor up to a huge 120 Nm of torque, with up to 600% support and 750 watts of peak power. Bosch have also tweaked things so the motor can hold that power for longer when the riding conditions allow.
The 600% support figure only kicks in between 0 and 15 km/h, so it’s all about helping you power up steep climbs and tricky sections. The maximum assisted speed stays the same at 25 km/h.
As with previous Bosch updates, you can still customise the motor settings in the app to suit your riding style. Whether you want maximum power for steep tech climbs or a more natural feel on longer rides, you can dial it in how you like it.
Performance Update 2.0 is available for all CX Gen 5 and CX-R Gen 5 motors. It also brings Extended Boost (Bosch Overrun) and support for the new drivetrain tensioner system, which helps reduce lag when you get back on the pedals. Bosch are also adding more features and connectivity options, including Garmin integration and new power supply options.
One thing worth keeping in mind — more power means more stress on drivetrain components, so increased wear is expected over time. If you’re unsure about compatibility, servicing or upgrading components, get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help.
Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.
